The bio ethanol plant which would be soon setup in Luapula by Mahtani Group of Companies and Sunbird Group has received appreciation from the President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.

2. The Mahtani Group of Companies, along
with the Sunbird Group of UK, has
confirmed to setup a bio-ethanol plant in
Luapula Province.

3. Recently the President of Zambia, Edgar
Lungu, has appreciated the development of
bio-ethanol plant, which will be soon setup
by Mahtani Group of Companies and Sunbird
Group.

4. President Lungu suggested that development of this
plant would reduce the dependency of Zambia on oil
import and is also expected to create employment
opportunities for about 7,000 people.

5. The total investment in the plant was USD $190 million
and the total expected output would be close to 120
million litres of ethanol on a yearly basis.
