The Student Portal is Manor College's online gateway for students to access important information such as class schedules, grades, and course offerings for upcoming semesters. To access the Student Portal, students should go to the Manor College website and click on "Current Students" then "Student Portal" to login using their username and password. The Student Portal allows students to prepare for academic advising and course registration. Students should meet with their academic advisor, bring a proposed class schedule, and register for courses before signups fill up. Advisors can help students choose appropriate courses, discuss career options, and access resources like the college catalog.

2. By midterms, I had a much better
idea of how to balance school,
work, family and friends, thanks
to the Learning Center, my
teachers and, of course, some
hard work.
Imagine my surprise when I
logged on to the Student Portal
the week after midterms and
found that I was doing well in all
of my classes!
3. What is the Student Portal?
• The Student Portal is Manor’s online gateway
where students can log on and access
important information.
• You should use the Student Portal to
– Get a copy of your class schedule.
– See your midterm and final grades.
– Find out what courses will be held next semester
to prepare for advising and registration.
7. Instructions for accessing
the Portal are on the login
screen and on the next
PowerPoint slide.
Instructions for accessing the
Student Portal are always on the
login screen. Just use the same
login and password you used to
complete your online application
to Manor. An email with these
login instructions was also sent
to you before the semester
began.
8. If you forget any of
your logins or
passwords…
• Go to the Manor
homepage at
www.manor.edu
• Click on Audiences
• Click on Current Students
• Click on Student Resources
and Services
• Click on Password Resets
• Fill out and submit the
password reset form you
see at the right.
• Make a note of what the
password reset will be for
the login you need to
reset.

As you learned in Module 1,
your Academic Advisor can
be a lot of help. At Manor,
advisors are trained to know
all about the various
academic programs and
courses and careers.
Once I got help from the
Learning Center and found a
good balance for school,
work, family and friends, I
started thinking about what
my next step would be.
Should I stay in Liberal Arts,
transfer for a Bachelor
Degree or pick a different
major that would let me
work after 2 years of
college?
10. First, sign up for an advising appointment with your academic advisor. Courses
can fill up quickly. Advisors post sign up sheets for advising appointments
outside their offices.
If, like Marla, you are thinking of a new study or career path, be sure to meet as
early as possible with an advisor to discuss your options.
It’s a good idea to check the college catalog to see what courses are part of your
program. The current college catalog can always be found on Manor’s website.
Also, check the Course offerings on Manor’s website or through the Student
Portal to see which courses will be offered next semester.
Advising &
registration for

November.
Advising &
registration for
Summer & Fall

12. Find Course and Program
Descriptions in the Manor College
Catalog
You may have received a copy of the college
catalog at Freshmen Orientation, but the most
recent version can always be found on the College
website.

From this page you’ll be able to access the College Catalog, Course
Descriptions, Course Schedules for Fall, Spring and Summer, the
Academic Calendar---just about everything you’ll need to plan your
next academic steps.
15. It’s always a good idea to try and put together a
schedule of classes you’d like to take before
meeting with your advisor. You know your schedule
better than your advisor. If you work, play sports,
or have other obligations outside of school it’s
important to tell your advisor so the two of you
can plan a course schedule that will fit your needs.
Your advisor will check on whether there are
open seats for the classes you want and help you
register.
Your advisor will also be able to answer
questions you may have about certain classes.
Be sure to take a copy of your new schedule with
you before leaving your advising appointment,
but if you lose it you can get another copy from
the Student Portal.
16. Your academic advisor will have office hours every week, so you should feel free
to drop by or you can call for an appointment. Each semester you’ll make an
appointment with your advisor to review your progress and to select courses for
the next semester. Your advisor will be able to refer you to other college offices
that can help you with transferring out, financial aid, or even personal counseling
needs. As you get close to completing your program, your advisor will help
determine if you’re ready to graduate.
Together with your academic advisor, you can plan your future, both at Manor
College and beyond.
Before you move on to PowerPoint 4, check out the Video of my second meeting
with Marla – it’s very different than our first meeting!
