The library circulated over 650 books in February and March. Computer usage was over 1,100 sessions. The library received a donation of a poster and is upgrading its catalog to an online system. Students with overdue books cannot check out more materials until they are returned, and notices will go out in March through June for lost or overdue books. The library is closed from 2:10-2:55 each day for staff recovery time.

Students who have overdue books no longer have circulation privileges. They can use the resources in the
library but cannot be entrusted with any more materials outside of the library until the books have been
returned. Notices and attempts to collect books will begin in March and carry over until June. There are no
late fees for overdue books. Lost books need to be paid for. There are also several staff members and
classroom collections that have library books. Any book returned is one more book we can make available
to our library community.
Catalog upgrade
Our Library REACH grant has enabled us to finally upgrade the library catalog to Destiny Library Manager.
Our old catalog could only be accessed in school. The new library management software is housed online.
Students and staff can access the catalog anywhere they have Internet access. We look forward to working
with our library community and integrating the new catalog in lessons, research projects, and more.
21st Century learning/thinking
Blackboard – Coursesites is the free version of Blackboard for k-12 schools. I am working with a few
teachers to upload their course online. This should enable our students to access their class information
outside of school 24/7.
Academic Earth- Online course from top scholars, universities, and colleges. Academic Earth allows for
students to view and learn from scholars around the world. This site is a great opportunity for
upperclassmen to get an idea of what they will encounter went they move on to higher education. It might
also be a great supplement to current classes.
Library Closing
The library is closed from 2:10- 2:55. Students should not be in the library, with or without a teacher, at this
time and classes will not be scheduled. This is the only recovery (restocking shelves, circulation,
cataloguing, computer maintenance) time built into the schedule.
