GENeco, a Wessex Water-owned company,
operates the Bristol sewage treatment works,
the food waste recycling facility and the
Avonmouth gas-to-grid plant.

WHAT I GAINED
 Enhanced my engineering knowledge in wastewater treatment
 Developed skills in effective communication, teamwork and time management
ORIGINAL SCOPE
 Integrate, calculate and analyse site data
in Amulet
 Implement real-time visualisation of data
through dashboards
The data visualisation process through which Amulet enables
predictive and prescriptive analytics using raw data
An example of an Amulet dashboard illustrating the overview
performance of the site’s sludge dewatering and thickening plant
Logbook for operators to comment on
observed trends while meter gauges are
utilised to monitor quality of dewatering
and thickening liquors
Performance of operations is tracked
against budget values with the use of
traffic alarms, which readily highlights the
onset of deteriorating performance
Frequency of laboratory sampling and
analysis is tracked to ensure accuracy of
reported data and its associated trend-
predicting capabilities
