Door is a moving structure that allows access or blocks entrance to a room, office or building. There are several types of doors including revolving doors, sliding doors, swing doors, collapsible doors, flush doors, louvered doors, fiber reinforced doors, laminated doors and aluminum doors. Each door type has its own advantages such as providing energy savings, security, soundproofing, aesthetic appeal, low maintenance and resistance to weather effects. Door costs vary depending on material and size, ranging from Rs. 35 to Rs. 2000 per square foot.
7. Revolving doors: A revolving door typically consists of three or four doors that
hang on a central shaft and rotate around a vertical axis within a cylindrical

12. Swing Doors: Swing doors may be either manual or automatic. These doors are
majorly used. Automatic doors provides convenience, safety at places where
there is frequent in use, low maintenance. These may both single and double
swing doors.

13. Collapsible Door: The collapsible steel door is one which can be opened or
closed by slight pull or push. These doors are used where the width of the
door is large and space is insufficient to provide two-leafed hinged shutters.
This door is fabricated from thin mild steel sections.
Cost: 40 – 550/- per SFT
15. Flush doors: Flush doors is a name given to doors that are made by using a
timber frame which is covered by plywood or MDF or similar board on both
the sides of the door. The hollow portion inside the door is usually filled with
cardboard or board. These doors are then finished by putting veneer on top or
teak ply on top to give it a finishing. These doors have a perfectly flush and
joint less surface. Two types: Solid, Hollow flush doors

16. • Flush doors: Flush doors with complete flat surface on both sides, light in
weight compared to timber wood, less cost, manufactured in standard
thickness of 25, 30, 35 and 40mm.

18. Louvered Doors: The louvers permit natural ventilation when the door is closed
and also provide privacy in the room.
Louvers are made up of timber or glass or plywood and these may be either
fixed or movable
21. Wire gaged doors: Wire gaged doors permits natural ventilation and restrict
the entry of flies, mosquitoes, insects etc.. These doors are commonly used
in hotels, restaurants and for cup boards containing eatables.

chips in the laminate then it is difficult to aesthetically repair.

Welding of aluminum requires specialized equipment and training compared to
