1. Brief Summary (Biomedical Techniques)<br /> The most interesting course in the RISE Program was the Biomedical Techniques in which we learned a lot about laboratory techniques that we could apply to do different experiments. We had a diversity laboratory technique because we took different laboratories each Friday. Also we learned techniques of different areas like: biology, chemistry, ecology and physics. Each week we had to write a summary about what we did in the laboratory. This semester the students group that composed the RISE Program was divided in pairs to do research during the semester. In my case, I worked with Ricardo Chiesa professor in his project about: NPY-Induced Kinase Activation in C. elegans Effects on Signaling Nodes. We had to present it to the group and professors, and also wrote a paper. At the end, we had to deliver an individual laboratory notebook. The most interesting part in this course was the laboratories that we took with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill postdoctoral students. Also we had the opportunity to improve the English language. This course helped me to increase my ability in laboratory techniques that will help me to do research in United States. <br />
