18. PERFORMANCE PHASE :
Fill the tub with 6”is8” (15to20cm) of water
Measure the amount of therapeutic additive recording
is the physician order
Mix the additive in the water
Allow the patients to soak for 15 to 30 minutes after
check the temperature of water in the tub
Bath the patient against scrubbing his skin is prevent
further irritation
19. FOLLOW-UP PHASE:
o After the bath assist the patient from the tub
o Help the patients put him skin dry with towards,
don’t rub the skin
o Apply lubricating cream (If ordered)
o Provide a fresh gown or patients dress
o Escort the patients is his room and make sure
that patients comfortable

22. NURSING RESPONSIBILITY:
Medicated bath should be avoided in the case of
hunger over fatigue or sedation.
Explain that red skin & sweating for 30-60 min
after bath are normal.
Children,old people and seriously ill patients
should be nursed in medicated bath.
Medicated bath should be stopped at once in the
case of dizziness,palpitation,vomiting.

Medicated bath is avoided for cause of moderate
or severe hypertension history, heart disease,
asthma for allergic history.
Medicated bath is avoided for cases of open
wound infection lesions and bleeding.
Medicated bath should be avoided for pregnant
women or mentruration.
