5. All solar modules will gradually degrade over the life of any solar
installation!
Generally solar modules will offer a performance warranty of 25 years. What most
people don’t publish, is that the 25yr performance warranty is at 80% of it’s original
performance & as little as 90% from day 1.
A good solar company will offer;
• Solar modules with a linear performance warranty above 90% day 1 & 80% @ 25yrs.
• Testing services to ensure your modules are operating within the warranted range.
• Warranty services to ensure non performing modules are replaced.
Most warranty failures of solar power systems in Australia to date
have been related to poor quality inverters!

This content will outline the several steps involved in the designing, purchasing, installing &commissioning a solar power plant
for a residential or small commercial roof top grid connected system.
1. System Design
In Australia to it’s is mandatory that a Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved designer,
develops a system design. Now Energy has access to the latest satellite technology
to offer system design on roof tops, Australia wide.
2. Cost Benefit Analysis
Once a CEC approved designer analyzes the size system that you can install on your
roof, we are able to provide a basic cost v’s benefit analysis based on ‘averages’ for
your situation.
3. Product Selection
There are many different product options available in Australia & as with all
purchases different products suit different needs. Now Energy offers a range of
products available Australia wide.
4. Project Management
In all states of Australia there are varying regulations regarding the application,
installation & commissioning of a solar power system. Now Energy offers project
management of solar power systems & also provides support to clients that wish to
manage their own project.
5. Financing The Investment
There are many financial products available to households & business, should they
wish to install a solar power plant. Now Energy is accredited offer products such as
interest free & commercial equipment leasing / finance.
6. Installation & Commissioning
It is likely that both an accredited solar installer & your electricity utility will need to
visit your property to install & commission a grid connect solar system. There are
4500 accredited solar installers throughout Australia. Acting as project manager
Now Energy will provide a hassle free installation & commissioning service, or
alternatively assist our clients to act as project manager.
7. Government Incentive Applications
Most grid connected solar installations in Australia are eligible to receive small scale
technology certificates (STC’s). There certificates are valued as 1mw of renewable
energy each (over 15yrs). A 1.5kW system will receive 30 certificates (3kW=60 etc.)
These certificates are ultimately purchased by large energy users via‘trading houses’
for $20-$40 each based on simple supply & demand principals. At Now Energy we
offer to purchase your STC’s as a point of sale discount, or can assist you to deal with
a trading house directly.
8. Operations & Maintenance
With small scale systems there is generally very little maintenance required,
although very little still means that there is some. One of the easiest ways to ensure
the uptime of your system is by installing a monitoring device. A monitoring device
will alert someone if something was to go wrong. Now Energy offers monitoring
services & also enables it’s clients to DIY if they wish.
