Energy Smart Unit

  1. 1. Energy Smart Unit™ is legal and has also been licensed and patented. Energy Smart Unit™ has Approval from UL (Underwriters Laboratory) l, CSA (Canadian Standard Approved, the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), the US Department of Energy, & RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) UK and has met EU consumer safety standards. This product is endorsed by the US Department of Energy.
  2. 2. About the Energy Smart Unit™ Energy Smart Unit™ is patented as an apparatus suited to determine, to an exact science, the amount of capacitance that is needed to optimize inductive motors to unity for maximum energy savings. Energy Smart Unit™ fine tunes the electrical system from the inductive equipment back through the utility company's electric meter, both for kilowatt hour meter (kWh) demand (kW or kVA). This fine tuning will slow down and reduce the overall electrical consumption. Energy Smart Unit™ stores the reactive power to create an electromagnetic field (EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor. As alternating current (AC) motors operate, reactive power is "pulled" and "pushed" to and from Energy Smart Unit™ by the motor at 60 cycles/second. Energy Smart Unit™ stores and releases what the motors need to function at maximum efficiently. The unique approach serves to reduce the heat generated on the lines and reduce the strain placed on all electrical components. Electricity, that would normally be pushed back through the power distribution lines, is reclaimed and recycled by the Energy Smart Unit™. Energy Smart Unit™ reclaims, stores, recycles, and supplies power to all inductive loads.
  3. 3. This is how Energy Smart Unit™Unit Works The Energy Smart Unit™ reduces the amount of power drawn from the utility by storing otherwise lost electricity (kWh, kW, or kVA) caused by the inductive motors in your home. Some examples of inductive motors are air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, vacuum cleaners, furnace blower motors, fans etc. The technology applied by Energy Smart Unit™ supplies the stored electricity back to your inductive loads, causing you to decrease your demand (kW or kVA) from the utility. As demand is decreased, you pull less electricity from the utility company. This is reflected by the slower movement and lower volume of consumption (kWh) on your meter. You pay for the electricity flowing through your meter, why pay for it and waste it, when you can pay for it, store it, and reuse it again. This whole process is called power factor optimization. The amount of saving on your energy bill depends on many factors. The size of your home, the amount of inductive motor load, and the amount you are paying per kilowatt-hour for electricity etc. Users of this product have generally seen anywhere from 10 to 50% in reduced consumption, but the average savings reported have been in the 10% to 25% range. The Power Factor Power factor is the percentage of electricity that’s delivered to your house and used effectively, compared to what is wasted. For example, a 1.0 power factor means that all the electricity that’s being delivered to your home is being used effectively for its purpose. However, most homes in America today have a .77 power factor or less. This means that 77% of the electricity that is coming thru your meter at your home or business is being used effectively, the other 23% is being wasted by your inductive load. With a low power factor, the utility has to deliver more electricity to do the same work. However, Energy Smart Unit™ increases that power factor in most cases to .97 or .98, thus increasing the effective use of your electricity and lowering your usage.
  4. 4. Energy that is Lost The adequacy of North America’s electricity system will decline unless changes are made so…demand for electricity is expected to increase over the next ten years by 19% in the U.S., but confirmed power capacity will increase by only 6%. The power companies are not keeping up. Nerc (North American Electric Reliability Council)-Says “Over $16 billion dollars of electricity is Unusable energy, but billable in the U.S.” Someone is taking the loss and is not the power companies – the problem is lost energy. In the 1960’s Electricity Costs was at .019/kwh. By the 1970’s during the gasoline energy crisis, we experience long lines at the gas pump, electricity was at an all time high of .044/kwh, By the year 2007 it decline to .10+/kwh. In 2009 it soared back up at .19/kwh***energy chart. In our homes Electric AC motors use more than half of all electricity. Up to 25% or more of billable electricity is unusable. Consumers are getting billed for what they are not using. In other word we are not operating at a level of efficiency. There are areas of opportunity to save cost. Most AC induction motors operate at 80% efficiency under a full load….the efficiency drops dramatically at lower loads. NASA Research proved that substantial savings could be made on the running costs of AC induction motors. The Surge Protection Insurance policies do not protect against “acts of God” such as power surges from the electric. Many people have lost thousands of dollars in valuable electronics and appliances due to such power surges. Unlike the insurance companies, the Energy Smart Unit™ is helpful to regulate electrical spikes that would otherwise be a problem for your appliances, but it should not be confused with a whole house surge protector. The Energy Smart Unit™ provides a broad range of protection for hardwired appliances and expensive home electronics such as televisions, computers, satellite equipment, entertainment systems, etc. The unit helps protect from power line surges as well as spikes caused by internal wiring problems, loose connections and fluctuating demand from large motors such as appliances, vacuum cleaners, heating and cooling equipment, etc. However the Energy Smart Unit™ is not warranted by the manufacturer any circumstance if there is a power surge from the Electrical provider, lightning strikes, or acts of God.
  5. 5. Where Energy Smart Unit™ can be used. Energy Smart Unit™ will work with any Single Phase Power up to a 200 amp panel. It is installed next to the electrical breaker box panel (preferably by a licensed electrician). One unit is usually all you need for the whole house unless your home has additional panels Energy Smart Unit™ will work for some businesses that have a Single Phase Power up to a 200 amp panel, but if your business is on a 3 Phase or up to a 400 amp panel.. The larger capacity Energy Smart Unit™ capable of handling higher demand is in its final phase before retail. It’s for a building with more than 2500 square feet and on the 3 Phase or up to a 400 amp panel. Energy Smart Unit™ can be used in any home as long as you have a circuit breaker panel with breaker switches and not the old screw in type fuses, the unit will work on any single-phase electric application for homes. If you say "yes" to only two or more of the following then you could be saving a significant amount of money on your electric bill right now! • Is your home over 2500 Square feet? • Is your central air conditioner / heat pump unit 3 years or older? • Is your forced air furnace 3 years or older? • Do you have a pool? • Do you have a well? • Do you use an air conditioner? • Is your refrigerator / freezer not Energy Star rated? • Do you have more than one refrigerator / freezer? • Is your washer / dryer not Energy Star rated? • Do you have a hot tub or a jacuzzi? • Is your dishwasher not Energy Star rated? • Do you have a number of appliance motors in your home?
  6. 6. Energy Smart Unit™ Warranty Information It is warranted by the manufacturer for 12 years (if installed by a licensed electrician) and has a predicted lifespan of up to 25 years. There is warranty registration form that has to be sent back to the manufacturer with the license number of the electrician that installed it for warranty to be in effect. Is there a money back guarantee after I buy the Energy Smart Unit™? We are so confident about the benefits that the manufacturer will provide a twelve month money back guarantee. If you see no savings on your electrical bill in that time, you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price, but you have to prove to us that you did not save any money on your electric bill by providing us 2 years of electric bills so we can compare and see if this is true. Federal Energy Tax Credit for Installing Green Products Now is the time to increase your home's energy efficiency, lower your taxes and utility bills, and reduce your impact on the environment.
