And that’s exactly what today’s leading businesses are doing.
more and more firms are looking to adopt cloud applications, infrastructure, database, and platforms – basically everything as a service.
As you can see here, the level of investment and interest in the Cloud among companies is higher than ever.
But the motivation for embracing the Cloud is far different than it was in the past…
You’ve probably heard a lot about the TCO benefits of the Cloud. And while the Cloud certainly offers a cost advantage, the real benefit the Cloud brings to business comes in two flavors: innovation and agility.
That’s exactly why companies are turning to the Cloud.
With rapid innovation cycles, the Cloud delivers new functionality several times per year, enabling you to request and get new enhancements to advance your business.
Releases are immediately available to every customer – with no lengthy upgrade cycles, no consultants, and no long training or change management projects required.
And with agile Cloud Platforms, you can quickly develop industry-, process-, or company-specific extensions to any SAP applications to achieve new, innovative business processes that advance your business.
In short – Cloud is no longer either/or…it’s not even AND…it’s AND BETTER!!! By extending your OP assets with the Cloud, you can enable new business processes, gain new insights, and unlock new value for your business.
In fact, I’d argue if you are merely moving to the cloud to enable the same old process through a new delivery or pricing model – don’t do it. Move to the cloud to enable new capabilities. New innovation. And new agility.
There was also an increase in the number of enterprises planning for multiple public clouds (up from 16 percent to 20 percent)
As digital technologies continue to disrupt all industries, organizations will need to innovate more quickly than ever before. Tougher competition, narrowing margins and tightening competitive standards are applying pressure to the businesses. At the same time, digital economy presents new growth opportunities to take business to the new level. The corporate challenge is to anticipate in response to a changing environment and to seize growth opportunities - new markets are opening up, niches are appearing and discontinuities are occurring. In response to these challenges, companies are adopting more flexible organizational structures. For example,
Multinational corporations undergo continuous restructuring and reorganization driven by business needs and changes in business environment.
Accountability is pushed closer to the front lines through smaller, more focused subsidiaries.
Companies are more willing to focus on their core strength and own competitive advantages by forming strategic partnerships, alliances or by outsourcing.
Innovation allows the subsidiary to lead the way for the enterprise to outcome based systems driven by insight analytics and best practice, end-to-end value chains that define the term “Cloud Quality”
The modern digital core serves as the nerve center of the enterprise.
While still retaining elements that made ERP critical to success, the digital core is a revitalization of the ERP stack.
It allows more inputs –
such as internal elements like your Workforce and Assets…
and external inputs, such as your ecosystem and customers….
…to coalesce into a single, living structure and provide the information that helps yield a truly Live Business.
It is immediate - empowering business users with insights to act in the moment
It is intelligent – beyond automation to predictive suggestion
And it is integrated – not only between your departments, but connected to the world.
<<Note to presenter: this is an anchor slide that you should place considerable emphasis on. These 3 pillars (Immediate, Intelligent, Integrated) showcase the power of SAP S/4HANA, and are benefits the competition cannot match. Our pure-play SaaS competition does not offer the solution/LoB footprint of SAP, nor the ability or position to orchestrate the integration within and beyond and organization. Our “business suite” competition lacks the power of in-memory, and our leading user experience to blend analytics with transactions to empower employees.
Later in the deck (particular in the business scenarios), this is showcased in how data can be taken across LoB’s to deliver new value to the company. Such as taking customer data (SAP or non-SAP), analyzing the customer sentiment, satisfaction, but also the effectiveness of such interactions within S/4HANA Finance on a cost-per-interaction / successful outcome basis. Then these insights and related data can flow into SAP SuccessFactors to help fine-tune the profile of the most effective sales associates or call-center agents within the recruiting process, helping to improve those first-line customer interactions. This example is based on what Sabre Corporation is doing TODAY with S/4HANA, SAP Cloud solutions and even non-SAP data that is being brought to life with HANA.>>
The availability of SAP’s PaaS solution, SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) further extends a 2-tier model by providing a platform for additional functionality not found in S/4HANA, including direct connectivity to other SAP cloud assets, such as SAP Ariba, SuccessFactors, Hybris and Concur as well as providing a platform for building net-new functionality.
A subsidiary can run a separate version of these SAP cloud assets or connect to an enterprise-wide instance, whichever is most relevant for the business model. Both headquarters and subsidiaries can add new SAP cloud functionality as needed, providing a single-vendor option for bringing on board key business processes in domains such as finance, human resources, talent management, contingent labor, time and expense billing, customer interaction, and procurement.
The strategic choice that really matters at this juncture in the evolution of business and technology is about changing, adapting, or implementing new business processes that are enabled in software – be they enterprise-wide processes or those specific to a local or micro-vertical need – without extensive customization.
Delaware Consulting has years of experience in implementing SAP ERP template based solutions using an agile based project approach. This approach is referred to as our FAST approach.
