AFSC South Region: Programming for Change
A brief overview presentation of the AFSC social justice programs in the South Region and how they interconnect.
2. “
”
AFSC’s South Region is motivated by the Quaker belief in the worth
of every person and faith in the power of love to overcome violence
and injustice. Our work is driven by the need for permanent
change to the systems, cultures, and situations that lead to
violence. We serve affected populations and emphasize youth
voices by developing specific programs for local communities. Our
grassroots approach focuses on finding peaceful methods of
overcoming oppression, discrimination, and poverty – because
without justice there will never be peace.
• How do we frame our work to achieve this?
