Zacchaeus was a tax collector who wanted to see Jesus but could not see over the crowd. He climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus pass by. When Jesus saw Zacchaeus in the tree, he called him down and went to his house, where Zacchaeus repented of his sins and promised to give half his possessions to the poor.
