Sexual
Harassment
Sexual
harassment
is
found
in
a
lot
of
places
like
schools,
the
work
place,
and
universities.
Sexual
harassment
is
any
unwanted
sexual
attention.
Sexual
harassment
is
a
big
problem
that
needs
to
be
addressed.
In
2007
a
female
New
York
Knicks
sued
team
coach
Isiah
Thomas
for
sexual
harassment.
She
won
a
huge
settlement.
In
the
1970s
sexual
harassment
was
declared
a
work
issue.
According
to
Jennifer
Thomas
women
with
more
workplace
power
are
more
likely
to
be
harassed.
In
2003
and
2004
nearly
600
men
and
women
aged
29
and
30
took
part
in
a
youth
development
study.
According
to
Jennifer
Thomas,
“about
36%
of
men
and
women
had
experienced
some
form
of
sexual
harassment
in
2004,
about
46%
of
female
supervisors
and
33%
of
women
who
didn’t
supervise
others
had
experienced
sexual
harassment”.
Women
who
supervised
others
were
137%
more
likely
to
be
harassed.
According
to
Katherine
McIntire
Peters
there
were
41
reports
of
sexual
assault
at
the
military
service
academies.
A
64%
increase
from
reported
assaults
in
the
2008-‐2009
academic
years.
As
you
can
see
sexual
harassment
is
a
big
problem.
Sexual
harassment
gets
in
the
way
of
workers.
It
can
have
a
devastating
effect
on
the
health,
confidence,
and
the
performance
of
those
affected.
The
stress
from
sexual
harassment
sometimes
leads
to
those
subjected
to
it
taking
time
off
work

to
sickness.
Sometimes
it
will
lead
people
to
quit
and
find
a
different
job.
Sexual
harassment
can
have
long-‐term
affects
of
an
employee
and
damage
their
confidence
for
a
long
time
or
forever.
There
are
also
adverse
consequences
arising
from
sexual
harassment
for
employers.
It
has
a
direct
impact
on
the
profitability
of
the
business
or
enterprise.
Sexual
harassment
is
an
obstacle
to
the
proper
integration
of
men
and
women
into
the
labor
market.
Sexual
harassment
can
be
found
in
a
lot
of
schools
to.
Alayne
J.
Ormerod
led
a
study.
About
300
girls
and
around
250
boys
were
surveyed
from
seven
schools
in
the
Midwest.
Girls
had
more
frequented,
upsetting
experiences
of
peer
harassment.
They
reported
more
frequently
to.
Boys
reported
fewer
less
upsetting
experiences.
Girls
in
general
are
more
prone
to
sexual
harassment.
I
think
some
ways
sexual
harassment
are
caused
are
things
like
peer
pressure
like
if
all
your
friends
are
making
fun
of
someone
then
your
mite
join
in.
or
work
climate,
if
its
uncomfortable
in
your
workplace
then
you
might
get
agitated
and
fire
a
hurtful
insult
at
someone.
Ways
people
have
tried
to
get
rid
of
sexual
harassers
is
just
tell
them
to
stop.
If
they
don’t
report
it
to
your
boss
or
to
your
principal
if
you
are
in
school
being
harassed.
In
school
your
principal
or
counselor
will
do
something
about
the
behavior.
In
a
business
if
telling
your
boss
doesn’t
work
then
according
to
Victoria
Lucia
you
should
notify
HR,
which
will
investigate,
says
employee-‐relations
expert
Michelle
Singletary.
You
will
be
asked
for
your
side
of
the
story.
Your

harasser
and
any
witnesses
also
will
be
interviewed.
Then
HR
will
decide
if
harassment
occurred,
as
defined
by
law,
and
what
the
discipline
will
be.
If
your
boss
is
the
one
harassing
you
then
still
tell
your
workplace’s
HR.
Just
because
your
boss
is
higher-‐up
the
HR
still
has
to
investigate
it
fairly.
According
to
Victoria
Lucia
if
your
workplace
doesn’t
have
an
HR
department,
file
a
complaint
with
the
U.S.
Equal
Employment
Opportunity
Commission.
An
officer
will
set
up
a
free
investigation.
Sexual
harassment
is
inappropriate
and
pointless.
If
you
harass
someone
the
consequences
out
weigh
the
benefits.
This
project
went
well
for
me.
I
think
that
my
website
has
good
information
on
it.
My
project
had
a
lot
of
information
to.
I
changed
a
little
bit
of
the
stuff
that
I
said
I
was
going
to
do
