• Newport is working with John Morrell Food Group to bring at least 50 high-paying jobs into the city. The
pork producer is expected to move into an unidentified amount of space at One Riverfront Place, located
at 300 Dave Cowens Drive. John Morrell currently has its corporate offices in Springdale at 805 E.
Kemper Road, next to its local plant operations. The move will help improve Class A vacancy rates in
the area, which have hovered around the 30.0 percent mark following the relocation of Omnicare and
Nielsen’s headquarters from Northern Kentucky to Cincinnati, together which contributed to roughly
300,000 square feet of negative absorption in 2012.
