Your boss needs you to develop an employee assessment survey that consists of 10 questions and will be administered through email to all employees. She hands you the following requirements that must be addressed within the survey:
· Integrating a Likert scale
· Identifying technical competencies on ERP systems
· Examining skill depth within financial services
· Reviewing overall knowledge of HR legal compliance
· Understanding depth of product knowledge
· Comprehending engineering technical abilities
· Gathering information on general shipping knowledge
· Identifying interest in future leaders
Your job is to submit your boss the questionnaire that contains 10 specific questions that integrate the requirements above along with any other necessary pieces of information you believe would add value to understanding the employees' feelings about their operational knowledge and capabilities.
Additionally, you need to submit a one-page summary that includes an introduction showcasing an understanding of internal assessments. Within the body of the paper, provide comparative research to other possible external surveys. Lastly, within the conclusion, discuss why your survey will add operational value to the organization.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Introduction to Popular Culture in Korean Film and TV Dramas offers a critical reading of
contemporary Korean film and TV dramas in order to understand the complex and multi-faceted
relations between Korean society and its people in the context of the global popularity of Korean
pop culture. This course will introduce popular film and TV dramas and examine how they are
related to Korean life as well as how they participate in the global circulation of culture, tradition,
modernity and identity. Introduction to Popular Culture in Korean Film and TV Dramas also aims to
help students develop necessary skills for an analysis of Korean popular media texts. No previous
study of Korea or Korean language is required to take this class.
COURSE GOALS:
1. Understand current trends in Korean film and TV dramas situated in both local and global
contexts.
2. Critically analyze Korean popular culture through various genres of film and TV dramas
3. Develop the ability to conduct cultural research using Korean film and TV dramas.

ASSIGNMENTS AND EVALUATION:
Attendance: 10%
Participation: 5%
Thought papers: 20% (10 pts x 2)
Presentation: 20%
Pop Quiz: 20% (5 pts x 4)
Final Research Project: 25% (3-minutie presentation 5pts +
Final Research Paper 20 pts)
Total: 100%
Attendance (10%): Attendance will be taken at the beginning of
each class. If absence
occurs, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the instructor
in order to make up lost
work. Attendance is important because many class sessions will

class activities or discussions. (1) absence is (0.5) points
deduction, and three late days
will result in (1) absence. (Full marks are 10 points.) Sick days
require a doctor’s note in
order to be considered an excused absence.
Participation (5%): Class contributions, attitude, preparedness
& focus, behavior.
Please be well-prepared before coming to class. (Watch the
films and do your readings!)
Contributing to in-class discussion and asking relevant
questions will help your
participation grade.
Thought papers (20%): Students are required to write two 2
page thought papers for this class.
These papers should include 1st) 1 page summarizing at least
one of the readings for the previous
week. These summaries should demonstrate that you

the articles/chapters, and 2nd) 1 page of your critical reaction to
the reading. You can critique the
ideas or expand on the ideas with a connection to current events
or personal experiences.

Group presentation (20%): During the first week of class, I will
circulate a list of group presentation
topics. You are required to sign up for one of these groups.
Students are required to sign up for a
group on the first week of class. Each group should prepare a
PowerPoint presentation addressing
one area of Korean film and/or TV dramas. Each presentation
should be approximately 15-minute-
long and include time for leading class discussion about the

scheduled from the fifth week to the sixth week. The
presentation schedule will be announced on
the second week.
Every group has a chance to get some advice individually from
instructor through an e-mail or a
meeting by appointment.

Pop Quiz (20%): There will be 4 times of Pop Quizzes during
week 3 to week 10 without prior
warning. The quiz will be consisted of the questions about the
films, Dramas and readings. The
purpose of the Pop Quiz is to check that the students are
watching the films & dramas and are
doing the readings on schedule. Quizzes will be distributed at
the beginning of class. There will be
NO make-up quizzes.
Evaluation: 5 pts x 4
Final Research Project (25%): Students are required to write a
final research paper (5 double spaced
pages, not including the title page or reference section, font size
11) that presents either 1) a
10. comparative analysis between Korean popular film and/or TV
dramas and other local culture, or 2)
a more focused research about one area of Korean contemporary
culture (e.g., film and/or TV
drama).
1st) During the 9th & 10th week of class (November 25th and
December 2nd), each student will give
a 3-minute presentation about the topic.
2nd) On December 9th is due to submit the Individual Research
Project.
Evaluation: 1st) 5 pts, 2nd) 20 pts
POLICIES:
1) Attendence
A) Absence from 3 or more classes total will automatically
reduce the highest possible
final grade to B+.
B) Absence from 5 or more classes total will result in a grade of
F.
11. C) 3 late arrivals to class or leaving the class early count as one
absence.
2) Manners during class
A) You must not eat food, chew gum or eat candy in class,
B) You must not leave the classroom without the instructor’s
permission,
C) Cell phone use is strictly prohibited in class. Please set your
cell phone to airplane
mode before the class starts. No text messaging during the
class.
3) Plagiarism
A) Plagiarism may result in your failing this course and you
will be reported to the Office
if Judical Affairs.
B) Plagiarism/Internet Plagiarism - the use of another’s idea or
words without proper
attribution or credit. An author’s work is his/her property and
should be respected by
documentation. Students should always ask their instructors
