Young people act and think digitally – and they are aware of the risks of internet misuse
The 2014 Credit Suisse Youth Barometer demonstrates just how much 16- to 25-year-olds from Switzerland, Brazil, the US, and Singapore live their lives in the digital world. For about 90% of those surveyed, the internet plays a markedly important or even indispensable role in their lives, with many feeling highly connected to their online community.
The young people surveyed are aware of the risks of misuse on the internet and know how to protect themselves. Nevertheless, the majority of them wish that policymakers would put better safeguards in place to protect against cyber attacks.
