  2. 2. Te Urewera National Park <ul><li>Te Urewera National Park is the largest of the four in the North Island. The Park supports a variety of bird and flora life . </li></ul>

Tongariro National Park <ul><li>Tongariro National Park was the fourth national park established in the world. </li></ul><ul><li>New Zealand's oldest and the first national park, recognised as one of the 27 World Heritage Sites that are of both outstanding natural and cultural value. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Egmont National Park <ul><li>This park comprises the land about a nine-kilometre radius. </li></ul><ul><li>The symmetrical cone of the dormant volcano is a provincial landmark. </li></ul>

This easy access for visitors, as well as the immediate access to the mountain trails from the village appears to lead to larger numbers of unprepared persons overstepping their abilities and getting into mortal peril. </li></ul>

The grandeur of its scenery, with its deep fiords , its glacial lakes, its mountains and waterfalls , make it a popular tourist destination. </li></ul>

The park is home to many invertebrates, including large dragonflies, crickets, grasshoppers and 7 native butterflies. </li></ul>

The Green Party has warned that the park is one of New Zealand's main tourism drawcards, and that mining here could do significant damage to the country's image </li></ul>
  15. 15. Rakiura National Park <ul><li>Pakiura National Park in Stewart Island i s the newest New Zealand national park. It is made up of a network of former nature reserves , scenic reserves, and State Forest areas. </li></ul>
