13. Artist Statement
• The inspiration to my project was
obviously my boyfriend. I wanted to be
able to express the love I have for him in
as little words as possible. I found my first
poem just by searching on Google. After I
was informed that it was to literal I found
this poem by Carolyn Wells and feel in
love with it. I took a bunch of photos of me
and my boyfriend in a couple days.
14. Cont.
• The timing on the photos was the hardest
part while putting it together because I
wanted to express the last line with more
feeling than the rest. The poem is written
in old school language but I feel like it can
be understood because love can not be
explained simply.
15. • The title of this poem is fate which
attracted me because to me we were
meant to be together. The tone of this
poem is simple yet tasteful. This is a
narrative poem because the author is
speaking about two very different people
that defy all their obstacles and end up in
love. The pace of this poem is very slow
the author takes breaks in my opinion for
you to be able to understand what is being
said.
16. Artist Statement cont.
• In the poem the author says that the two
had defied war. This can have more than
one meaning but to me this can explain
the challenges that comes with a
relationship and how with hard work and
dedication you can get through anything.
The author implies that Fate holds all
control.
