2. One day, a man walks into the cave of snakes, by mistake. The
snakes take him to their sultan Sahmeran who is half a snake and
half a very beautiful woman.
Bir gün, bir adam binlerce yılanın yaşadığı bir mağaraya
yanlışlıkla girer. Yılanlar onu yarı insan yarı çok güzel bir kadın
olan sultanları Şahmeran'a götürürler.
3. Sahmeran tells him that they won’t kill him but he has to be a
guest of them. She doesn’t want to put her life in danger by
releasing the man who knows her place now.
Şahmeran adama canını bağışlayacağını ancak kendisini misafir
etmek zorunda olduğunu söyler. Yerini bilen birini serbest
bırakarak kendi hayatını tehlikeye atmak istememektedir.
4. Sahmeran treats him very well. The man is given whatever he
wants, and he spends his time by having long chats with
Sahmeran.
Şahmeran ona çok iyi davranır. Adam bir dediği iki edilmeden
bütün ihtiyaçları sağlanarak yaşamakta, günlerinin büyük
bölümünü Şahmeran'la sohbet ederek geçirmektedir.
5. Although everything is good, the man gets bored in the cave.
He asks for permission to go outside.
Ne kadar rahat da olsa, gerçek dünyadan uzak bir mağarada
süren bu hayattan sıkılan adam, bir gün yeryüzüne dönmek için
Şahmeran'dan izin ister.
6. Sahmeran says that she trusts him and she believes that he
won’t tell about the cave to anybody so she allows him to go
out.
Şahmeran adama güveninin tam olduğunu, yerini kimseye
söylemeyeceğine inandığını belirterek gitmesine izin verir.
7. However she warns him about not showing his own body to
anyone because, as he has seen Sahmeran, his body is
going to be covered in scales. The man turns back to his
normal life and he doesn’t tell anybody that he has seen
Sahmeran.
Ancak kendisini gördüğü için vücudunun pul pul olacağını, bu
yüzden vücudunu kimseye göstermemesi gerektiğini de
tembih eder. Yeryüzünde normal hayatına dönen adam, Şah-
meran'ı gördüğünü hiç kimseye söylemez
8. By the mean time the princess of the country becomes ill, and
all the people are upset about it. The vizier wants the princess
to get well soon very much, because he plans to marry her and
to be the sultan of the empire.
Bu arada padişahın kızı hasta olmuş, tedavisi için bütün ülke
seferber edilmiştir. Kızın iyileşmesini en çok isteyenlerden biri
de vezirdir, çünkü gerçek amacı kızla evlenip oğlu olmayan
padişahın yerine ülke yönetimini ele geçirmektir.
9. He calls all the wizards of the country to find a cure for the princess.
One of the wizards explaines that if they find Sahmeran and make
syrup from her body, it will be a medicine for the illness of the
beautiful princess and he adds if they wants to find Sahmeran, first a
person whose body is covered with scales must be found.
Vezir, bütün büyücüleri toplayarak, bu hastalığa çare bulmalarını ister.
Büyücülerden birisi, Şahmeran‘nın bulunup öldürülmesi ve
vücudundan alınacak bazı parçaların kaynatılıp içirilmesi durumunda
kızın iyi olacağını söyler. Şahmeran'ı bulabilmek için de vücudu pullu
kişilerin aranması gerektiğini ekler.
10. The Vizier forces all the people to go to hammams in order to
check their body. At the end he finds the man who has seen
Sahmeran . The man promises to kill Sahmeran and goes to
the cave.
Vezir ülkedeki herkesi zorunlu olarak hamama götürüp
soydurarak sonunda Şahmeran'ı gören kişiyi bulur. Adam,
Şahmeran'ı öldüreceğini vaat ederek mağaraya gider.
11. After he tells everything to Sahmeran, he asks what to do. Sahmeran
says “ I knew that I was going to die because of you.” She adds this
must be a secret, otherwise all the snakes will attack people to take
the revenge.
Şahmeran'a bütün gerçekleri anlattıktan sonra, ne yapması gerektiğini
sorar. Şahmeran: "Ölümümün senin elinden olacağını zaten
biliyordum" diyerek kendisini öldürmesini, ancak bunun gizli
tutulmasını ister. Çünkü öldüğü duyulursa, dünyadaki bütün yılanlar,
insanlardan öç almaya kalkacaklardır.
12. Then she says ” Boil my tale with water and make the mean Vizier
drink it, so he will die soon. Boil my body with water and let the
princess drink it, so she will get well soon. Boil my head with water
and drink it yourself, so you can be a supernatural doctor for ages.”
The man listens the things she says sadly.
Daha sonra: "Kuyruğumun suyunu kaynat ve vezire içir ki kısa zamanda
ölsün. Gövdemin suyunu kaynat ve kıza içir ki iyileşsin. iç ki Lokman
Hekim olasın" diye ekler. Adam biraz da buruk bir şekilde bunları
dinler.
13. Sahmeran tells the snakes that she is going outside with the
man and she won’t turn back for a long time.
Şahmeran yılanlara, adamın misafiri olarak gideceğini, çok uzun
yıllar dönmeyeceğini, kendisini merak etmemelerini söyler.
14. Then they go outside from the cave. The man does all the
things that Sahmeran has told, the vizier dies, the princess
recovers from illness and the man becomes a legendary
doctor.
Ve yeryüzüne çıkarlar. Adam Şahmeran‘ın dediklerini yapar. Vezir
ölür, kız iyileşir, kendisi de Lokman Hekim olur
