Primary Objective
Develop and implement a coordinated program of activities and events and lead the programs
team to deliver these events to provide excellence in library and customer service for the
Community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise library programs team.
2. Develop and deliver programs and activities targeted to the needs of a variety of client
groups.
3. Manage the events budget to ensure the provision of programs and events that meet
community needs.
4. Participate in the assessment, monitoring and review of programs and activities.
5. Provide excellent Customer Service.
6. Undertake other duties as directed, consistent with the primary objective of the position.

This position supervises the Programs Team:
Library Promotions and Events Officer
Library Indigenous Services Officer
Library Technology Officer
Children’s and Youth Services Officer
2. Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in library and information studies or proven equivalent
experience
Current ‘Working with Children Clearance’ (Ochre card)
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Supervisory experience in leading a team to deliver programs and events.
2. Experience in program development and delivery with experience in a library service highly
regarded.
3. A ‘can do’ attitude in delivering quality, timely and innovative library services, activities and
programs.
4. Experience managing a budget.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise
with a cross section of community groups.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Experience with electronic information resources, and highly competent use of the Internet
and MS Office software.
8. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Library and Information or proven equivalent relevant
experience.
9. Ability to perform work outside of ordinary hours.
10. Current ‘Working with Children Clearance’ (Ochre card)
Desirable
1. Experience in a cross-cultural environment.
2. Experience working in a public library.
