means it is gothic metal.They are also into there Celtic music and is in most of
there music.They are a Dutch band who specialist in heavy metal and symphonic
which means heavy but has an orchestral
elements for example instruments, the lead
singers voice at times as she has a operatic voice.
You can tell this by the dark colours and the
clothes she wears. The video is in black and
white with a flash of colour at certain parts. With
this song being Symphonic rock it means there is
some quite heavy music but then some smooth
and slow music.
Audience: The audience is mainly 16 to 25 year olds for this particular song but
within temptation is a wide range group of audience as they have many male
fans and female fans. Within temptation are not very well known in England they
are more well known in Germany and other international places.
Narrative: The song Memories video tells the story of an aged Sharon den Adel
who returns to her old house, which is now for sale. As she enters her old home,
she is transformed into her younger self and the house is restored to how it is in
her memories. In some scenes,
den Adel walks around the
house, haunted by memories of
her old lover and in others, she is
in a room with other band mates

again, and the house falls back into its current disrepair. This is illustrate of the
song as it tells the story through the video. This video also uses cross cut
throughout.
Representation: The representation of this is a young female being heartbroken
for a past relationship and that she still remembers her past boyfriend this
shows that relationships are not an easy road this shows the pain that you go
through. The whole video from beginning to end shows the older version being
heartbroken. This is the video showing that breakups are easier if you act strong
throughout.
