1. Cause of Learning Disabilities and Identifying Children with Learning Disabilities Identifying students with learning disabilities At this point in time teachers rely on student’s behaviors and performance in order to help determine if there is a learning disability present. This makes the groups of students very diverse. There is no one known cause of learning disabilities, although research has shown that there are many factors that can play into learning disabilities. Environmental factors are different for every person. Some include poor choices in food for expecting mothers, lack of money for proper health care along with many others. Due to the way that they are being diagnosed the category of learning disability has become common for students who merely need additional support in school. These students are defined as having learning disabilities for unexplainable underachievement.
2. Information-Processing Model Each component carries out an important function related to learning, and optimum learning takes place when the components function smoothly as one system. A learning disability can be thought of as the glitch in the system. All of these components affect the others; if something is wrong in one area it is inevitably going to carry over to the others. Output Problems- Speaking, writing, drawing, building, singing/dancing/acting, performing Executive Function Problems- decision- making component Emotional Context- All of the components process in an emotional world, children are always in some state and no matter what this may be this will affect their learning. Input problems visual , auditory, tactile, gustatory, olfactory, proprioceptive, kinesthetic Processing and Thinking Problems Memory, thinking, forming categories, linking information with prior knowledge, analyzing, evaluating, modifying, synthesizing

6. Moral Dilemma How to handle the situation I think the best way to handle the situation would be to explain the situation to the students. Personally I believe that students’ resentment towards students with learning disabilities comes from their lack of knowledge about what the other student is going through. Perhaps with the proper knowledge they will better understand the reasoning behind that student receiving the extra help needed for them to succeed. I also don’t think that actions like having extra time on tests should take place in the classroom in front of the other students. This will cause more frustration and resentment from those students who don’t feel as if they had adequate time to finish. The Definition of “fair” in the educational context for individuals with special learning needs. Fairness means anything that is going to allow that student to succeed in their studies. The objective is to allow these student the opportunity to learn the material. They need to have the tools just as every other student in order to achieve to their greatest potential. Personal beliefs about the issue and how this will affect my professional decisions Personally I believe that every student deserves every tool in order to help them succeed . The most important part is understanding the material and being able to use the material in the future, If this takes extra time or being able to use a computer than that is what it takes. I also don’t want to make anyone unhappy. I believe that if people are unhappy in their learning environment than this is going to affect their learning to a great degree. With all of this being said I believe that this will lead me to listen to everyone's side of the story and then try to inform everyone about the reasons behind the actions that are being taken. I will make every effort to have everyone in the classroom succeed but also do my best to keep everyone happy.
