Cockroach repellant
1. Real Life Problem:
Cockroaches are a main concern in a household because of the diseases and possible health risks it may
spread. Although there are several insecticides and repellants available commercially, most of them are
toxic and some have an unpleasant odor that may cause nausea and dizziness to those who inhale it.
Proposed Solution:
Hedgeapples are fruits of the Osage orange plant. These fruits have been observed for many years to
repel cockroaches. A gel/spray made from hedgeapple extract may provide a natural and less toxic
cockroach repellant in small households.
Specifications:
The end product must not be toxic and release harmful chemicals
The product must be comparable/better in repelling power with commercial products
The product must not have too many expensive ingredients
The product must have a long shelf-life
