Should We Need A Homemade Meals?
Everyday a fortunate amount of us wake up knowing that we will have three meals. We do not worry about how we are going to get food. The
only thing we may worry about is if we have the supplies we need to make our homemade meal or if a trip to the store will be needed. Or we may

Food aid is hard to summarize succinctly due to many related issues, but in general it is about providing food and related assistance to tackle hunger,

short for their age."("Hunger") This staggering statistic is due to one of the world's biggest problems, hunger. Hunger is a problem that many
developing countries face, one of the biggest victims to hunger is the small Caribbean country of Haiti. Hunger in Haiti affects the entire country, from
the rural countrysides to the major cities. Though hunger is already a big issue for Haiti, it has gotten worse in the past decade due to the extreme
poverty, heavy storms, and natural disasters that the country has faced. "In 1997 some 1.2 million Haitians didn 't have enough food to eat. A
decade later the number had more than doubled. Today, that figure is 6.7 million, that goes without food some days, can 't afford a balanced diet

reduction of the national poverty rate. Going from 48.5% in 2004 to 23.9% in 2013, the country has exhibited improved democratic progress but there
are still major inequalities against indigenous people (The Hunger Project). As one of the "fastest growing economies in South America", the Peruvian
government has made efforts to create a profitable natural resources exports sector (World Bank). However, these projects threaten the ancestral and
agricultural lands of rural indigenous groups. Furthermore, profits from these natural resources are not evenly distributed, as is further evidenced by
the high disparities throughout the country, particularly between rural and urban communities. This, coupled with Peru's unorganized government and
susceptibility to natural disasters, is a recipe for disaster in terms of eliminating hunger. While "Peru has made tremendous strides economically and in
the fight against hunger", one in five children remains hungry (Albis). These improvements have led the World Bank to reclassify them as an
"upper–middle income economy" (World Bank). The upper–middle income country, which has enjoyed economic growth in recent decades, maintains
high levels of inequality. Seven million people (22.7 percent of the population) live in poverty, and more than a million (4.3 percent) in extreme
poverty, which is most prevalent in rural communities (UNICEF). Although chronic childmalnutrition fell to 14.5 percent in 2015, anemia rates have
