YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter in the
past few years has drastically changed the way that
people view marketing. For small businesses and
startups that do not have the resources to engage in
traditional marketing such as radio and TV
advertisements, social media marketing is a means
for them to compete with larger companies on equal
footing.

For one thing, creating an account on a social media
site is usually free. Also, social media involves a twoway communication process in that it encourages
people to actively interact with a brand or business,
thereby creating a social value that cannot be found
in traditional marketing advertisements.
