Pine bark extract is obtained from the reddish bark of the maritime pine. Pinus pinaster or also sea pine, called sea pine, is native to the Mediterranean region. Phytosterol is an important component of the envelope of plant cells. Its chemical structure is similar to cholesterol. The most common representative is beta-sitosterol. The effective spectrum of phytosterols is extensive. The plant active substance can be used for the treatment of painful cornification disorders, age spots and for tightening the connective tissue. Phytosterols inhibit inflammation in a natural way and relieve typical symptoms of dry skin such as itching, burning, scaling and roughness.
