2. The Pitch
Busk ‘til Dawn is a social media initiative that
focuses community awareness to the talents
of street performers.
Using Facebook, we aim to create a virtual space
for people to share and discover information
on Melbourne buskers.

show their support for six buskers.
• Through Facebook, we will create a smartmob
that moves about the city attracting passing
bystanders to stop and record the
performance.
• The smartmob will be armed with large signs
that direct people to the dedicated Facebook
page for uploads.

4. Passersby will be encouraged to review and
discuss performances on the FB page.
The page will serve as an archival platform
and form the basis of the interactive
documentary.

Change in concept:
Facebook became less about recruiting
collaborators and more about recording
participation.
The event was now created to promote the
Facebook page when previously it was to
promote the individual performers.

Issues that emerged:
• The number of buskers decreased.
• The scope of the participants diminished.
• Finding collaborators was harder than what
we had planned for.
• While the group communicated
well, organizing group time proved difficult.
