France to back to back semifinal appearances in the World Cup
o Platini retired in 1987 and moved on to coaching where he coached team

o 77 teams from the 53 UEFA member associations make the Champion’s
League. The association ranking is based on UEFA Country coefficients.
o Associations 1-3 get four teams, 4-6 get three teams, 7-15 each get two
teams and 16-54 each get one team. The winners from last years Champions
League, Real Madrid, automatically get a bid.
o All the leagues within the countries play the same time as the Champions
League. The results from that season are used to qualify the following
Champions League. So the 2014-2015 Champions League was determined
