Leaders have followers < > Managers have subordinates
My goal is to lead a team
It’s been a long time since I’ve joined CNA and worked under different types of
managers. In that time, I have really enjoyed being part of this company. I am
writing now to discuss something important for my career development. I have
all of the necessary skill sets and experience that would make a good leader. I’m
confident that I would be a great asset to the organization in a leadership role.
It’s not just my years of experience handling successful projects and task or my
people skills, which have helped me to develop great relationships with
colleagues, vendors, and managers alike but my passion about this industry to
deliver high quality work. It’s towards this goal that I have recently enrolled and
successfully completed QA (Quality Assurance) course on my own which
comprehends effective communication, planning goals and responsibilities, lead
the team to deliver quality product to stakeholders.
Over the years I’ve received several rewards and recognitions, certificate of
achievements and kudos from my business partners and managers for my
process improvement ideas. I have demonstrated my leadership abilities by
leading projects, facilitating meetings, trainings, and motivating peers.
Below are examples where I’ve demonstrated and continue to display leadership
qualities:
Leadership Qualities:
I can be relied upon to guide others to the accomplishment of work
responsibilities, to promote teamwork, and to resolve problems. During
manager’s business traveling I took ownership to avoid red past due items
performed daily queue sweep and alarm team to meet SLA. And constantly
touch in with manager to see what more I can do to improve team’s quality.
Starts assignments without prompting and independently contributes ideas and
projects. Works with minimal supervision, manages own time effectively
maintains control over all current tasks/projects. Follow up on all relevant issues.
Listening skills:
I listen closely and respectfully before offering comments. Whenever new project
or any discussion about how to handle the unexpected tasks arrives always talk
with my co-workers about the game plan( the roles and responsibility) this way
we all know the job get done on time with no time wasted.
Example: UK file closing project with tight deadlines, Bulk Transfer project, ACT
stripping Table changes etc.
Process Improvement Ideas:
Conducted several training and created job aid by team collaboration.
Example:
1. Understands the industry, paperless environment support goes green and
save time and money. I have proposed the plan for stop printing files and
send the request to External Distribution queue and Implemented
immediately. This action saved a lot of money and time to CNA.
2. Created Flexibility and freedom to the team to schedule the day off., Open
up the new doors for the new opportunities. Proposed the Cross training
and created more than one back up.
3. I have proposed for long time to Nancy Fry and Sherry Anaya for stop
printing the Barr reports do it electronically. Finally Nancy Fry elected me
to serve on this project along with Joyce Robinson and Pidge (Mary
Bridget) as a Developer and Tester (help to create a job aid and training
material for the team, Managers, Directors who signed off for SOX audit).
This project saved a lot of money and time to CNA.

for the team members to explore different ways to solve the problem. Help
to improve Morale and Reducing Negativity.
6. Created an Interactive Buddy Game and Given Speech about Diversity in
broad terms, dimension and why it’s important at work place. Receive
Kudos from team members and my manager.
7. Also worked on most challenging UK Bill payment request and completed
on time but received good and bad feedback from UK Claim Handlers and
Managers. About the Good take it easy, the bad feedback created an
opportunity for us to unfolded mystery. And I helped team to create a
better Job Aid.
8. Thinks expansively- My coworker off on her medical leave for 45days. I
had an opportunity to working on the E&S Wexford bill payment queue.
The volume is high and too many steps to complete one task also it
creates two checks for same person and send to same address. I have
reached out to Matthew Knop(the manager) and explained my idea. He
and his team members raised questions I explained clearly how the new
procedure will save time to the bill payers and save CNA money. My
coworker return from medical leave and she was very happy and
appreciated me for being for out spoken, process improvement and saved
her time.

for sending back Claim Bill reprise items to adjuster which helped CNA to
send bills on time to Coventry and eliminate fines and penalties.

as I’ve worked diligently with my peer creating training agendas/materials and job
aids for various tasks.
Key participant in UK File closing project going above and beyond to help team
to complete the project ahead of schedule
