My goal is to lead a team
It’s been a long time since I’ve joined CNA and worked under different types of
managers. In that time, I have really enjoyed being part of this company. I am
writing now to discuss something important for my career development. I have
all of the necessary skill sets and experience that would make a good leader. I’m
confident that I would be a great asset to the organization in a leadership role.
It’s not just my years of experience handling successful projects and task or my
people skills, which have helped me to develop great relationships with
colleagues, vendors, and managers alike but my passion about this industry to
deliver high quality work. It’s towards this goal that I have recently enrolled and
successfully completed QA (Quality Assurance) course on my own which
comprehends effective communication, planning goals and responsibilities, lead
the team to deliver quality product to stakeholders.
Over the years I’ve received several rewards and recognitions, certificate of
achievements and kudos from my business partners and managers for my
process improvement ideas. I have demonstrated my leadership abilities by
leading projects, facilitating meetings, trainings, and motivating peers.
Below are examples where I’ve demonstrated and continue to display leadership
qualities:
Leadership Qualities:
I can be relied upon to guide others to the accomplishment of work
responsibilities, to promote teamwork, and to resolve problems. During
manager’s business traveling I took ownership to avoid red past due items
performed daily queue sweep and alarm team to meet SLA. And constantly
touch in with manager to see what more I can do to improve team’s quality.
Starts assignments without prompting and independently contributes ideas and
projects. Works with minimal supervision, manages own time effectively
maintains control over all current tasks/projects. Follow up on all relevant issues.
2. Listening skills:
I listen closely and respectfully before offering comments. Whenever new project
or any discussion about how to handle the unexpected tasks arrives always talk
with my co-workers about the game plan( the roles and responsibility) this way
we all know the job get done on time with no time wasted.
Example: UK file closing project with tight deadlines, Bulk Transfer project, ACT
stripping Table changes etc.
Process Improvement Ideas:
Conducted several training and created job aid by team collaboration.
Example:
1. Understands the industry, paperless environment support goes green and
save time and money. I have proposed the plan for stop printing files and
send the request to External Distribution queue and Implemented
immediately. This action saved a lot of money and time to CNA.
2. Created Flexibility and freedom to the team to schedule the day off., Open
up the new doors for the new opportunities. Proposed the Cross training
and created more than one back up.
3. I have proposed for long time to Nancy Fry and Sherry Anaya for stop
printing the Barr reports do it electronically. Finally Nancy Fry elected me
to serve on this project along with Joyce Robinson and Pidge (Mary
Bridget) as a Developer and Tester (help to create a job aid and training
material for the team, Managers, Directors who signed off for SOX audit).
This project saved a lot of money and time to CNA.
4. Given speech on the topic of People Culture about how to be
Collaborative, tackle the negativity, and strengthening team spirit.
5. Co- Facilitator in the Employee Survey Action plan created a new platform
for the team members to explore different ways to solve the problem. Help
to improve Morale and Reducing Negativity.
6. Created an Interactive Buddy Game and Given Speech about Diversity in
broad terms, dimension and why it’s important at work place. Receive
Kudos from team members and my manager.
7. Also worked on most challenging UK Bill payment request and completed
on time but received good and bad feedback from UK Claim Handlers and
Managers. About the Good take it easy, the bad feedback created an
opportunity for us to unfolded mystery. And I helped team to create a
better Job Aid.
8. Thinks expansively- My coworker off on her medical leave for 45days. I
had an opportunity to working on the E&S Wexford bill payment queue.
The volume is high and too many steps to complete one task also it
3. creates two checks for same person and send to same address. I have
reached out to Matthew Knop(the manager) and explained my idea. He
and his team members raised questions I explained clearly how the new
procedure will save time to the bill payers and save CNA money. My
coworker return from medical leave and she was very happy and
appreciated me for being for out spoken, process improvement and saved
her time.
9. Given speech on the Topic of Winning Behavior & Raising a Bar explained
what is innovation, how to propose your idea.
10.Created a Job Aid for to Send WC Resource card to IW and the Medical
provider by redesign the process which saved time and increased
productivity.
11.Time saving purpose organized meeting with team, created a coversheet
for sending back Claim Bill reprise items to adjuster which helped CNA to
send bills on time to Coventry and eliminate fines and penalties.
12.Took ownership of the IL branch claim center sweep task, to stream lined
the process I have created a job aid.
13.Streamed lined the process of updating the UK file closing information to
Efile, re-design the job aid.
14.To exhibit one of the winning behaviors “Continuously Learning” Invited
the CNA’s Risk Control Dept. director Mr. Jim Fultz and the Consultant
Ms. DuBois Jonelle to summarized some of their job responsibilities to our
team and how its interact with WC dept., UW dept.
15.Created a Job Aid for Michigan State forms to help team to bring
uniformity in process.
16. Proposed ideas to change Quality Review questionnaires for Police
Reports request, Subpoena process.
Adaptability:
Shows strategy, approach in response to the demands of a situation.
Example: Successfully absorbed the majority of the decommissioned tasks from
the Columbus OH office. This transition was seamless to our business partners
as I’ve worked diligently with my peer creating training agendas/materials and job
aids for various tasks.
Key participant in UK File closing project going above and beyond to help team
to complete the project ahead of schedule
Instrumental in orchestrating the OH File Room project, completing project
ahead of schedule, though I was new to this process I have managed to play a
key role to the excellent results for the DB Schenker’s (Insured) OH State Audit
and also completed my daily tasks, trained the new hire.
4. Great Motivator:
Given lot of effective presentation in team meeting on the following subjects:
Time management, Cost saving, Diversity at work place and perseverance to
success and set a great example for the best way to get a raise without asking is
to “Simply outperform”.

what I have learned about my job, Acquires new knowledge/skills/abilities as
required by the job.

Able to identify problems and relevant issues and breaks problem into
components, Sees relationships and alternative solution and arrives at sound
conclusion through a logical process.

My extensive knowledge, experience, and privileged have been on other side
(employee) if given opportunity I am positive that I could make significant
contribution to our department and CNA’s success.
