The 80% Approach

 1. 1.

THE 80% APPROACH

 2. 2. The 80% Approach

The h u m an brain is capable of extra ordinary creativity and inventiveness.

Creative genius

Religious leaders

Sports stars

Great achievers

You can achieve it !!!

 3. 3.

The same power of brain can work against itself in ways that leave people chronically guilty, dissatisfied and anxious.

 4. 4.

Are you in chain?

Why I am guilty, dissatisfied, and anxious?

With seemingly everything in the world to be optimistic about, many individuals including the most successful people are frustrated and non productive for most of their lives.

 5. 5. Bored Of The Daily Routine And Want To Improve Yourself?
 6. 6.

The Best is available !

But why don’t you have it?

You can do 10 times than what you do now

You can be a Smart Speaker, Smart Leader, Smart Entrepreneur, smart professional………….

Why we are not productive?

Why we are not doing our best?

 7. 7.

WHY?

A natural element is working against me

What is it?

 8. 8.

We suffer from two mental habits that always undermine personal confidence.

1. Perfectionism

2. Procrastination

 9. 9. Two Mental Decease

Perfectionists are procrastinators and procrastinators are perfectionists.

Perfectionism is a decease that stops you from taking decision.

Procrastination is a decease that stops you from taking action.

One is stopping the decision and the other one is stopping the action.

 10. 10. What is perfectionism?

It is the obsession with the “ideal” (100%)

Which makes it impossible to be satisfied with any result in life, leading to a chronic paralysis of decision making that undermines personal confidence

 11. 11. Perfectionism

The ideal 100%

Ideal decision:

If I buy a car, it should be an ideal one

If I marry a girl, She………

If I buy a house, it should be………….

If I go for a job, it will be….

Ideal employee, Ideal brochure, ideal mood, Ideal client , ideal time,………

There is nothing like ideal in life .

 12. 12. Perfectionism

Perfectionism represents a belief system about how life should work, not how it actually does.

What actually did happen never measures up to their judgment about what should have happened.

 13. 13. PROCRASTINATION

Refusal to take Action.

Because an ideal result is not guaranteed.

Leading to a chronic waste of time, talent, emotion, and opportunity that undermines personal confidence.

 14. 14.

Achievers in the History

Freedom/ Rights/ Fighters

Gandhi, Mandela, Martin Luther King

They took actions.

 15. 15. PROCRASTINATION

When you postpone

You are wasting your Time, Talent, emotions, opportunity…..

We are postponing everything

Learning

Reading

Buy an office

Buy a new dress

Software, laptop, vehicle……

 16. 16. PROCRASTINATION

One day…………………..

When the day is ideal

When my child grow up

When I have a little more time

I will delegate

I will study further

I will upgrade

I will start exercising

ONE DAY…. I WILL DO IT.

When is that DAY?

 17. 17. PROCRASTINATION

ONE DAY…

A new branch

Big clients, go abroad, software technology, personal assistant, use reference, use telephone appointments, ideal banking, ideal book, clothes, client base,

Why not today?

 18. 18.

Perfectionism …. … Refusal to take decision

Procrastination……..Refusal to take action

Procrastination insist on guarantees before taking action in a world that doesn’t provide you any guarantee.

 19. 19. PROCRASTINATION

They continually end up feeling guilty over their stupidity.

It is always a struggle for them even to produce some results in life.

Leading to a chronic, recurring, constant, permanent …. Waste of

Time, Talent, emotions and Opportunities.

 20. 20. PROCRASTINATION

Procrastinators are their own worst enemies

Because they undermine their own confidence and cut themselves off from opportunities, resources and capabilities that other people could provide them.

 21. 21.

Are you going to grow your business?

Do you think you need to expand your business?

Here is the time for decision and action.

The solution to overcome the effects of perfectionism and procrastination is …………………….

 22. 22.

THE 80% APPROACH

 23. 23. THE 80% APPROACH

The 80% Approach is a “philosophy” and “methodology” that eliminates Perfectionism and Procrastination.

 24. 24. THE 80% APPROACH 80% 80% 80% 80% 80% 80%
 25. 25. The 80% Approach

The first 80% represents our first attempt at doing a project

It says that the first time we do anything when we finish judging our efforts, it is 80% of the way we have finished.

No matter how preparation we do before taking action.

 26. 26. The 80% Approach

The first time you ……

Make a brochure,

A client letter

Business plan

Buy a home

New visiting card

Buy a software

Make a proposal

The result will be 80%

90% of life is 80%

 27. 27. The 80% Approach

Why we think it is only 80%. It is because

The reason we see it as only 80% is that as we are completing the project, we immediately saw all kinds of ways that it could have been better.

You can improve only when you do it.

 28. 28. The 80% Approach

In many situations in life, just doing 80% is good enough.

For you it is 80%, but for the other one it is 100%.

People who are perfectionists never accept this.

Get the 1st 80% result as quickly as possible. Since just one 80% result may be all thats needed, it makes all the sense in the world to get it done as soon as possible so that we can benefit from the result.

 29. 29. The 80% Approach

The second 80%

The second 80% can represent further improvement to the project on our part, or even better, further improvement by other talented people.

2nd 80% will give you 96% on your project.

 30. 30. The 80% Approach

Delegate the second 80% attempt as much as possible.

It is crucial to delegate as much as possible to other people who have better talents than we do, which will increases the quality of the overall result.

 31. 31. The EIGHT 80% Advantages

1. THE 1ST ATTEMPT AT ANYTHING IS 80% GOOD ENOUGH, REGARDLESS OF PREPARATION.

Procrastination is always doubly bad for us because it robs us of our personal confidence.

Even after all the procrastination, the result of your effort is exactly the same as if we have started immediately.

 32. 32.

Preparation without engagement in actual activity is worthless.

Making preparations without actual implementation makes the project more complex than it needs to be.

Learning , Achievement and Confidence only comes from actual engagement and completion.

WHY?

Something powerful happens to the mind and emotions when we are engaged in producing a practical result.

 33. 33.

2. RECOGNISING THAT 80% IS GOOD ENOUGH IN 80% OF SITUATIONS.

Perfectionism put people into an impossible psychological trap, because in world that is completely complicated, unpredictable perfection is virtually an unattainable ideal.

 34. 34.

Our 80% is accepted by others as 100%

When 80% is superior to 100%

In most situations, striving for 80% produces for superior results than holding out for 100%.

So if you have a team, you do the first 80% and delegate the rest.

 35. 35.

3. RECOGNIZING WHICH 80% OF PROJECT EACH PERSON SHOULD HANDLE.

Based on experience, habit, knowledge, passion…entrust this 80%

 36. 36.

We first need to understand 4 types of activities that we do:

In competent

Competent

Excellent

Unique ability

 37. 37. What is an incompetent activity?

4 things happen, if you are incompetent

1. Failure in terms of results

2. Frustration

3.Conflict ( with self and others)

4.Stress.

So if you are incompetent, delegate your work.

 38. 38. Competent Activities

Just meet minimum result/ standard

Anxiety

High Competition

Repetition with little improvement in performance.

Because you are only competent

So, delegate this activities.

 39. 39. Excellent Activity

The world says you have superior skill

Reputation for the ability

Great sense of team Work

No real sense or passion

So………….Delegate it.

 40. 40. Unique Ability

Superior Ability

Energy

Passion

Never ending Improvements

Doing only 80% where you have a Unique Ability

 41. 41. 4. THE POWER OF GETTING CONFIDENCE

The biggest danger posed by procrastination are that it undermines individual confidence and prevents team work.

If successful people also procrastinate , why are they still successful?

Because they have more confidence, creativity, communication skills and courage than general population.

 42. 42.

But as successful they are, they would be ten times more, if they would learn a simple rule;

Always get the first 80% of any project done as quickly as possible.

Immediate increase of Confidence and Team work.

Elimination of procrastination will produce a sudden burst of confidence.

 43. 43.

5. STRIVING FOR 80% PRODUCES A BETTER RESULT THAN STRIVING FOR 100%

When you procrastinate, making things worse than they were before.

Striving for 100% result causes fear about failure , increased strain and fatigue and you may become over demanding for yourself.

 44. 44.

Riding the “80% wave” of increased confidence, energy and creativity.

Because you are only striving for 80%, you make rapid progress, you will become fast and successful.

The 80% approach make people feel like integral, invaluable member of an extra ordinary community.

80% vs 100%

Community vs Isolation.

 46. 46. 7.ELEMENATING PROCRASTINATION, SAVES TIME, IMPROVE TALENTS AND TRANSFORM EMOTIONS

Improving each individuals skills. Enormous savings of other peoples time, emotions and talents.

The major cause of indifference and depression today are perfectionism and procrastination.

So the adoption of 80% approach will help to overcome apathy and depression.

Removing indifference and depression. Because it gives them an opportunity to do.

 48. 48. Why people are not discussing P&P

Everybody / society does it

No one notices it

It’s a feature of daily life

It is considered rude and trivial.

 49. 49. How to achieve?

Context, Concept, Method and process.

Context: To increase Productivity

Concept: Strive only for the fastest 80%

Method: Start with an immediate project.

Process: Involve every team member in the method.
