1. Portrait evaluation
My recreation was a swift process and didn’t take too long to make. First of all
I had to take my picture. After that I imported it into Photoshop and sorted
through the filter gallery, which did not take that long just heading to filter,
then filter gallery. I made the picture look like the original portrait, then after
doing that I made some colour adjustments and light and contrast.
The weaknesses of the portrait is that the photo looks nothing like my
recreation as in it’s a totally different shot type and the background is in a
random place not really relevant to the original photo.
The shot type I was aiming for was a close up but ended up with a medium
shot if I realised at the time I would have retaken the photo. We also used a
tripod to get a clear steady shot. I think that a more colourful image would be
harder to recreate because you have to bear in mind that u need all the correct
colours in the correct places to make it look authentic to the original.
If did my photo again I would make it so the background suited the original
portrait more, to do this I would pick a better location to take my photo and I
would also make it so the person who took the photo of me took the correct
shot type (close up). But overall I think that my recreation of the original
portrait was satisfactory for my first attempt of a portrait recreation.
