The peoples unity - The Phillipines Earthquake in 2013
1. The People’s Unity
On November 8, 2013, a Category 5 Super Typhoon hit the
Philippines, called Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda). This typhoon killed at the
least 6 190 people alone, and bodies are still being found.
This shook me pretty bad, because the Philippines is my home
country, and I have a lot of relatives there. But what really surprised me
is the fact that a bunch of other countries helped them. I would’ve
expected only Canada and the U.S. helping, but it turned out it wasn’t
just those countries. There was Australia, Bangladesh, Ireland, Italy, and
so much more.
I think this changed the face of the Earth forever, because it
showed all the people’s Unity. All those big countries paying attention
to that small Asian country. Wow. Just wow. I think this is really
amazing that internationally, the people united to help the Philippines.
I’m so thankful for this. That the Philippines would be able to
prosper, thanks to all of the countries. That the Philippines, a small,
Asian country, would receive so much help in their time of need, and I
know that the Philippines will continue to thrive and prosper, thanks to
the People’s Unity.
