2.  National report : Macedonia
 42.6% of the young people who are planning to
emigrate would leave the country for good
 Between 1995 and 2000, the number of scientists
and engineers in research and development has
decreased by over seventy percent
 emigration rate of tertiary educated is 20,9%.
 A 2003 study estimated that between 12 to
15,000 young, educated, and highly skilled
persons left the country in the decade proceeding
the year of the study

3.  The inability of the official institutions to
properly recognize certain specialties (such
as advanced science, interdisciplinary social
science or advanced research)
 Education system produce profiles that are
not needed in the market
 Lack of public funds
There is no link between the education
system and the industry sector.

4.  The significant presence of unused, younger,
skilled labor serves not only as a limiting factor
to the growth of the Macedonian economy, but
is also the main reason for the unwillingness of
young people to get married and have
children.

5.  The concept consists of three steps:
 Discover the profiles that the industry need
 Making changes in the education system and the
way how the children learn
 Create link between education and industry

6.  Creating several surveys in order to define the
wishes of the students and the industry sector
 Recognizing and defining the profiles that the
industry need
 Raise awareness among the children about the
industry profiles by organizing several workshops

7.  Stimulate the teachers to follow the challenges
posed by the industry sector
 Creating a website called “Open school”.
 collaboration with professors
 create an environment where high school students
can learn from their home, ask questions to
particular professors about specific problems

8.  Create link between education and industry:
 Courses led by industry gurus
 Creating science clubs, art studios, clubs for artists,
and many others for high school students
 Including the students in the industry activities with
various of projects which will help them to gain the
necessary experience
 Making smoother connection between the
education and the industry

10. The solution will become global movement in our
country which will allow many young people to be
included in the realization
The prototype of this solution should be
implemented in several months when we could see
the first results of this idea
It should reach and engage all young people in my
country that have difficulties to find a job
