2. Current situation of Roma People
• The situation of Roma in Albania,especially that of Roma
youth within the education system resembles their situation
across central and eastern Europe.The size of the Roma
minority,their socio-demographic situation,and their level of
employment and education are all similar in these
countries.These similarities are rooted in a common
historical background and social history.Now
It is the right moment to break down the barriers and to
place them in equal conditions as the rest of European
young and citizens.

3. The Aim of the Project
• This project has as a main objective to
enable roma young people
• to have an equal chance to live, learn and
eventually work in an environment free from
isolation, prejudice, poverty, racial discrimination
and harassment.
• The aim of making activities and bringing
together with non-roma young people,is to make
them not feel segregated and also to raise the
awareness and social responsibility of the
majority people.
4. Objectives:
• To explore and to indetify means for innovative youth work
projects with young people at risk of exclusion and violene
• The promotion of a positive sense of identity amongst
Roma young people
• The empowerment of Roma young people to have access to
and maintain contact with beneficial services
• To breakdown misconceptions and prejudices about the
Roma culture
• To share knowledge and experiences on challenges to
human and social rights faced by roma people
• To develop specific competences methods and knowledge
in human rights education
5. Activities
• Trainings on social,legal and medical topics
• Workshops by using creative methods for expressing
human rights issues
• Various professional courses such as computer,English,
courses
• The edition of informative materials, such as leaflets
and posters designed by themselves(the participants)
• the launching of a web page and a forum exclusive for
the project
• Different competition such as the best voice or the best
singer
6. Expectations
• Equipment of with the knowledge skills attitudes and
confidence to resolve conflicts peacefully and to create
violence-free environments non/Roma
• To raise awareness of social responsibility
• effective participation of Roma in social, political and civic
life, including active participation of representatives
• recognition of roma youth work at local or national levels
• facilitation and reinforcement of the communication and
relation between the Roma communities and the public
institutions (education, health, and employment).
• a sense of trust and communication for a more coordinated
approach with NGOs on Roma youth issues.
