  2. 2. All Greek gods and goddess are immortal. They also have all kinds of powers.<br />
  3. 3. The Greeks believed in many gods this was called polytheism. One god named Zeus was the king of all the gods.<br />
  4. 4. Another goddess was Hera. She was queen of all the gods and goddess. She was also in charge of women, marriage, and childbirth. <br />
  5. 5. Hades was the god of the underworld.<br />
  6. 6. Demeter is the goddess of harvest and fertility.<br />
  7. 7. Poseidon is the god of the sea. He is in lots of Greek stories. He has a temple in Athens. <br />
  8. 8. Gaia is the mother earth.<br />
  9. 9. Hestia is the goddess of the hearth or the home fire.<br />
  10. 10. Athena is the god of wisdom and battle strategies. She is the patron god of Athens.<br />
  11. 11. Ares is the god of war but, not battle strategies.<br />
  12. 12. Aphrodite is the goddess love and beauty. She married the god Hephaestus but, was in love with the war god Ares. <br />
  13. 13. Apollo is the god of music, poetry, and healing. He is the twin brother of the goddess Artemis.<br />
  14. 14. Artemis is the goddess of hunting, wildlife, and chastity.<br />
  15. 15. Hermes is the messenger of the gods. He is the god of merchants, thieves, luck, and messengers.<br />
  16. 16. Hephaestus is the god of fire and blacksmiths.<br />
  17. 17. Dionysus is the god of wine and vegetation.<br />
