2. OBJECTIVES
Awaken to the reality that the mess made by us
must be fixed by us.
Help in cleaning and arranging the things inside
and outside their classroom.
Realize the benefits of clean surroundings in
creating conducive classroom for learning.
3. REVIEW
Who is the main cause of disorder in the
environment or to the world?
How we can help in preserving our environment?
4. Different concept about universe.
1. East thinkers- see the environment as the home
of spiritual being. Humans are not the only one
who lives in the environment. Humans and
spiritual being co-exist together.
2. West thinkers- see the environment in a scientific
way. If man continues his wrong doings to the
environment he will suffer greater consequences.
3. Pre Socratic philosophers- sees the
environment as their observatory tool to find the
answer to their query about the origin of
everything.
5. THE TWO DIFFERENT VIEWS ON NATURE
Anthropocentric model- humans are superior and
central to the universe.
Ecocentric model- man gives priority to the welfare
of the environment.

11. NOTICE THINGS THAT ARE NOT IN THEIR
PROPER PLACE AND ORGANIZE THEM IN
AN AESTHETIC WAY.
Today our task we will organize the things we think
which is not in the proper order and clean the mess.
Why do we still need to do this?
12. TRY TO IMAGINE AND ANSWER THIS!
Can you eat well if you smell something bad?
Can you sleep if your pillow is 5 years without
washing?
Can you text if the screen of your phone is broken
or the keypad is missing?
13. 1ST ACTIVITY
“Operation beautification”
Count one two three.
First group will clean inside the classroom.
Second group will clean outside the classroom.
Third group will be the fixer and the garbage
collector.
Do it for 10 minutes.
14. 2ND ACTIVITY
Share what you feel after cleaning.
Is there something you want to ask?
In ½ crosswise. Answer the following questions.
1.What is the difference that you observe before and
after cleaning?
2. Why do we need to arrange or clean our stuff or our
surroundings?
15. ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS
Emerged in the 1970’s and advocated human
responsibility and action with regard to environmental
issues. This ethical view emphasizes ideas that combine
philosophical, pragmatic, and theological perspective.
First, all elements of the world, including animals and
natural resources, have intrinsic value and should be
preserved.
Second, the preservation of the environment is
beneficial for humans as it continue to provide for the
present and future generations.
Finally, man has a responsibility safeguard the planet as
it has been entrusted to him by God.
Genesis 2:15 (The LORD God took the man and put him
in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.)
16. SOCIAL ECOLOGY
Applies an ecological and ethical approach in
analysing society, and sees a relationship between
social problems and environmental problems.
Society should, therefore, implement changes in
order to address issues regarding the environment.
17. Climate ethics and climate justice. Consider
climate change a significant ethical, social, and
political issues. These views were greatly
influenced by the concept on environmental
justice, which refers to the fair distribution of
environmental benefits, as well as the burden of
meeting environmental challenges.
Environmental aesthetics. This perspective
originally discussed concepts of beauty in nature
but has recently been increasingly influenced by
environmental concerns.
18. ENVIRONMENTALISM
Became an important issue in international politics
as governments and international organizations
have devoted efforts to discuss environmental
issues and formulate plans to address them.
Signing of the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, where
various nations committed to reduce their
greenhouse gas emissions in order to curb global
warming.
Earth Day first instituted in 1970, is a global effort to
raise awareness of environmental issues and
inspire action among communities.
19. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Theories that show care for the environment
aside from the ecocentric model:
Deep ecology
Ecological crisis as an outcome of
anthropocentrism
Deep ecologists encourage humanity to shift away
from anthropocentrism to ecocentrism.
20. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Socio Ecology
Ecological crisis results from authoritarian social
structures.
Social ecologists call fro small-scale societies,
which recognize that humanity is linked with the
well-being of the natural world in which human life
depends.
21. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Ecofeminism
Ecological crisis is a consequence of male
dominance.
In this view whatever is “superior” is entitled to
whatever is “inferior”.
For the ecofeminists, freeing nature and humanity
means removing the superior vs inferior in human
relations.
22. CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The three theories mentioned value the care,
conservation, preservation of nature and humanity.
The search for the meaning of life must explore not
just our own survival but calls for a new socio-
ecological order.

24. TEN SIMPLE CHOICES FOR A HEALTHIER
PLANET.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three
"R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
Volunteer. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. You can get involved in
protecting your watershed, too.
Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand
the importance and value of our natural resources.
Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that
eventually end up in the ocean.
Choose sustainable. Learn how to make smart seafood choices
at www.fishwatch.gov.
Shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag.
Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas
emissions. Also flip the light switch off when you leave the room!
Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air,
and help combat climate change.
Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the
home and office.
Bike more. Drive less.
