Editor's Notes
The Yelp Effect - Yelp created a LIVES standard which makes restaurant inspection data more accessible to residents. Once businesses became aware that consumers had access to data, they responded better to low ratings leading to a reduced risk of foodborne illnesses in the US. We believe the same results can be achieved with crime data.
