12. Interact Club applications are available from Mrs. Tipton
in the Guidance Office. The deadline to submit
applications and the $10 club fee is September 25th.
13. Our “Go Jim Go” SCHOOL WIDE CHARITY DRIVE kicked off
on 9/8/2015.
We have collected $149 towards “Go Jim Go”. We are
hoping to collect at least $500 this week and $1500
before 9/25/2015. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. Please show
your heart, by purchasing a heart.
14. Begin donating your $1 today and encourage as many
others, as possible. If every student and adult employee
gives $1, we will meet our goal of at least $1,000.
However, our desire is to still give $1500 as we did last
year.
15. Key Club members and inductees who have paid their
$25 –must see Ms. Smith for important information related
to the induction on Tuesday, September 22 at 6pm. The
induction will take place in the Overton High auditorium.
16. THE RESULTS ARE IN!
Congratulations to Derrick Dailey, Victor Hernandez,
Maria Rios & Peyton Walker! Your designs will be used on
the 2015 Mole Day T-Shirt! See Mrs. Mitchell today for
further details – OHS faculty, staff & students get ready for
information on how to purchase your T-Shirt later this
month.
17. The “Go Jim Go” t-shirts are on sale now. If you need to
see a sample shirt, stop by Ms. Smith’s room (244). The
cost of the shirt is only $10. We will only do pre-sale orders.
*The shirt is the only way for you to see Jim when he and
the media team visits Overton later this month. You can
also wear the shirt on Fridays for the remainder of the
school year, if you like.
18. It is not too late to donate $20 to the Make-A-Wish
Foundation to wear jeans EVERY FRIDAY, if you haven’t
already donated. For those teachers who have already
donated, the Make-A-Wish foundation dropped off some
small tokens of appreciation for us on Monday. Ms. Smith
will get those items to you very soon.
19. Attention: Football Homecoming is October 2! If you are
interested in running for the OHS Homecoming Court
applications are in the Main Office.
Please pick up one and have it returned to Mr. Hoots by
September 22!
-NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!
20. Students if you are interested in being a youth court
volunteer, -pick up a application from Mr. Trice in the
Guidance Office.
Youth court volunteers will prosecute, defend and serve
as bailiffs and jurors in a real sentencing hearing of
juvenile offenders in Shelby County.
21. Because of Parent Teacher Conferences, there will be no
bowling practice today. All bowlers must see Coach
Dodrill or Coach Clawson by Thursday.

23. Teachers please make sure that your (Red) Emergency
Folder is updated, complete and placed in your
mailboxes. It is very important that the proper information
is placed in these folders, in case you are out. If you have
any questions, please see Dr. Chandler (500 Building
Office).
