This lesson plan aims to teach 2nd grade students about the five oceans over the course of a week through various activities including watching an educational film, singing a song, completing a webquest, researching in groups, and a final assessment where students place ocean names on a map. The class has 20 students from a rural farm town, with some having special needs like autism or ADHD. By the end of the week, the teacher expects 85% of students to be able to enumerate the five oceans accurately.

1. Under The Sea

2. General Information:
 Grade: 2nd
 Students: 20: 11 girls (1 has autism), 9 boys (2 have
ADHD)
 School is set in a rural setting in a small farm based
town.

3. Main Objective:
 By the end of the week my students will enumerate
the five oceans after watching a film, singing a song,
and looking at maps with 85% accuracy.

4. Day by Day Breakdown:
 The first day I will introduce the five oceans to the students by having them
watch a film about their location and how different they are.
 The next day students will learn The Five Oceans song through a youtube video.
 On the third day students will complete a webquest as a class with help of the
teacher.
 The fourth day students will get into groups and look up their ocean assigned to
them and find why its different than the others.
 The fifth day students will take turns coming up to the smart board and placing
the correct name of the ocean on the correct spot.
