This document discusses what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. It provides three key aspects of genuine discipleship: 1) Commitment to Jesus as one's teacher and rabbi by being with Him and learning from Him. 2) Commitment to know Jesus and be like Him in thoughts, words and actions. 3) Commitment to follow and fulfill Jesus' plans by taking up one's cross daily and following Him, even if it means suffering or dying for one's faith. True discipleship requires serious commitment to Jesus' teachings and carrying out His mission.

teaching them to observe all things that I
have commanded you; and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the age.”
Amen.”

began attending school at the
synagogue, having already learned
the Aleph Bet (Hebrew alphabet)
from Joseph and committed many
Scripture verses to memorize.

Jesus stayed close to Mary’s side,
watching her as she lived the life of
a committed follower of the one
true God. Each Friday evening, As
they welcomed Shabbat He sat
quietly and listened as Joseph tells
and retells the stories of the
forefathers.

receiving intensive vocational
instruction from His father. His
life was influenced by Torah (first
five books of the Bible) and the
teachings of the wise.

At thirteen, He well graduated
from synagogue school to a
Beit Midrash (school of higher
learning), where He studied the
writings of all the great Jewish
teachers and debated with the

LUKE 9:23-24 AMP

follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set
aside selfish interests], and take up his cross daily
[expressing a willingness to endure whatever may
come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to
My example in living and, if need be, suffering or
perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. For whoever
wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually]
lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in
this world] for My sake, he is the one who will save it
[from the consequences of sin and separation from
God].”

and sisters, yea, and his own life
also, he cannot be My disciple. And
whosoever doth not bear his cross,
and come after me, cannot be my
disciple.”
25. Mark 10:28-30 KJV

sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children,
or lands, for My sake, and the Gospel's, But he
shall receive an hundredfold now in this time,
houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers,
and children, and lands, with persecutions; and
in the world to come eternal life.”
THE PROMISE
26. Christ’s teachings was given to us as
instruction on how to live our lives
according to His plan. We should study
it, learn it, embrace it, and live it in every

requires response. Building disciples or
