- Edward de Bono
4. • Six Thinking Hats, a thinking skills training
course from Edward de Bono, teaches parallel
thinking as an alternative to argument. Parallel
thinking guides thought processes in one
direction at a time so we can effectively analyze
issues, generate new ideas, and make better
decisions.
• Six Thinking Hats helps put our opinions and
egos aside so we can focus on a way forward,
without argument.
9. Main Benefits:
• Allow to say things without risk
• Create awareness that there are multiple perspectives
on the issue at hand
• Convenient mechanisms for ‘switching gears’
• Rules for the game thinking
• Focus thinking
• Lead to more creative thinking
• Improve communication
• Improve decision making
10. Using of the Hats

(Yellow Hat), List the drawbacks (Black Hat)
• Step 4: Get Everybody’s gut feelings about the alternatives

19. School Administrators
Their role is analogous to that of an
environmental protection agency. They
constantly monitor the intellectual ecology
of the district and community, ensuring that
the thinking, diversity, cooperation and
intellectual growth of all participants are
neither threatened nor endangered or
worse, made extinct.
