CALUMEX Qxp is a low alkali expansive agent designed for application in ordinary cement to
compensate the drying shrinkage normally occurring when Portlandcement hydrates.
Increase of volume is noticed up to 7 days after which mortar and concrete remain stable.
Expansion, when restrained, makes it possible to compensate drying shrinkage.
Moreover, when the ratio of shrinkage reducing admixture to ordinary cement is increased its high
expansion make it ideal for use in pre-stressed concrete, and industrial floors whereby fewer
dilatation joints are necessary
Calumex Qxp is used in all fields of construction and a wide variety of concrete products
manufacturers.
Its use extends to the use as an additive in building chemistry formulators.
CALUMEX Qxp not only compensates drying shrinkage but contributes to the reduction of
porosity giving a more dense matrix. Ideal in making waterproof membranes.
Normal addition rate is 4~7 % replacement (by weight) of ordinary cement binder, and should be
(preferably) thoroughly pre blended dry.
Concrete should properly be cured after casting for minimum 14 days!
