Sumatra Earthquake

1. On the evening of September 29than earthquake hit the island of Sumatra.

2. The results were devastating

3. 1,300 people have lost their lives

4. Many more are missing and are likely buried in the rubble and landslides.

5. 152,000 houses are severely damaged and are not safe to live in.

6. Many have nowhere to go and are sleeping on the streets

7. The Rainy Season is approaching and it is a matter of life and death to find a dry place to live.

8. Many people are unable to meet their basic needs of clean water and food.

9. They are desperate.
