Idea
We have decided to create a community programme with an niche audience for 16-19
because from the research I found there wasn't a news programme with that age range.
My idea for a New News
programme.
We are going to produce an TV based news series with a niche
audience in the sense of a community channel, in which the public
can interact with commenting on the news and use social
networks like Twitter and Facebook to post their feedback and
opinions.
What kind of news
programme am I
going to produce ?
Wednesday, 22 May 13
Why is there a need for this
programme?
We strongly feel that a new programme is needed
because their isn't a niche audience new programme
that address issues that should be covered.
What are its unique selling propositions?
We see our unique selling point it that is aimed at 16
to 19 year olds and we feel that it is unique because
there is no news programme that deals with that
demographic.

Wednesday, 22 May 13
Why am I targeting this audience?
We are targeting our audience as 16 to 19 because we
feel that their isn't a news programme that covers that
demographic and we want to communicate that to the
viewers.
Wednesday, 22 May 13
Abstract
• This is a short news programme which will
be episodic ranging over 24, 30 minute
episodes, covering local news stories,
eduction, films, and sport.
Wednesday, 22 May 13
Visual style and
structure
• The programme is going start in a studio
with visuals of the issues that the show will
deal with, then there will be a voiceover
introducing the show with a jingle. Then on
to on location reporting and back to the
studio between different news segments.

Sound Design
• In our news programme the sound will be both
non Diegetic and Diegetic. It will start with a
voiceover introducing the show with a jingle with
various sound transition effects.
• The Director will be Alex Crowcombe

Wednesday, 22 May 13
Audience
• The audience will be aimed at 16 to 19 year

News Program SAMPLE script
Intro with presenter
Presenter: A teenager from Hampton has sung her way to the area finals of
a national competition while studying for her A/S-levels.
I would go to the presenter and show him the script in which they will link to
a correspondent in girl’s house. However, there will be a contingency plan in
case the video link fails.
