SELECTED PROJECTS
+ Text analysis using topic models, UC Irvine
Developed and analyzed novel algorithms for concept tagging, information retrieval
and entity mining using statistical topic models. Tools: C, Perl, Matlab
+ Topic model based features for web search, Microsoft Live Labs
Proposed and evaluated topic model based features for Live search engine ranker.
Tools: C, Perl, Matlab
+ Record-oriented file system manager}, UC Irvine
Developed a record-oriented file system (RFS) manager to manage tables, schemas and
records. RFS uses functionalities from an extent-based file system manager that supports
standard file management functions like create, read, write, and delete files. Tools: C++
+ Cross-corpus document browser, UC Irvine
Built a java-based cross-corpus document browser using topic models with mySQL as
a back-end, application enables users to find documents similar to a query document in
another document-set and has basic functionalities built-in to search by topics, date,
keywords and other attributes of a document (Demo-ed at KDD review meeting). Tools:
Java, mySQL
