We use the writing process to write. There are several steps to the writing process and each one is very important in producing a final product! It is important not to leave any of the steps out.
When you prewrite you plan your writing. Think, list, choose and draw!
When you write a first draft you tell about your topic using sentences. Look at your pictures…use your plan! Think about what happened Write your first draft!
When you revise your writing you change it to make it better. Sometimes you add or delete words to your writing. Read your first draft to yourself or a partner Listen to your partner’s questions Make changes to your writing
When you edit your writing you check for capital letters, end marks and spelling. Read your revised story Check your story for capital letters, end marks and spelling Correct your sentences Key: Circle misspelled words Put three horizontal lines underneath the letter that needs to be capitalized Add a punctuation mark, for example a period, where needed and circle it
When you publish your writing you share it with others Think of a title for your story Write a neat final copy and make a picture..use your best handwriting! Share your writing
