Racism in the Media
1) Richard Sherman from the Seattle Seahawks being called a “thug” amongst other things
because of what he said after the game that got the team into the Superbowl.
2) Racist tweets about the new Miss America in 2013 because she is Indian-American.
3) Many people criticize and do not like President Obama because of his race.
4) Sarah Palin accused Obama of playing the race card.
5) There is an assumption in the media that when we hear a violent crime has been
committed or drugs are being sold in places or sometimes bad neighborhoods that the
person must be of African American race. Even times when there are bomb threats and
such made nowadays people assume it is a terrorist attack from someone of Muslim or
Middle Eastern descent.
