Remote cultures
1. Remote cultures
1. My overall impressions of both cultures were that we have this concept of what we
think is normal, but there is a whole other world out there. Both of those cultures had
many different qualities that many of us have not experienced.
2. The implications of the Venezuelan culture were how they got high to see god, they
beat their wives, they were burnt to death then the people at their ashes, and had no
form of number system. The wonderful whites of West Virginia culture did not keep up
with any true form of political culture all. They believed in drinking alcohol, doing drugs,
and partying till they passed out. Getting out and going to a nice place was the town
bar. They do not have any sense of political or social views.
3. These societies compare to ours by always sticking to what they believe in. We are so
confident that our way of living is the only appropriate way. These other cultures
probably think our way is very strange.
4. The similarities between these cultures were they did everything for themselves, and do
not care what others think. The lived for themselves and what made them happy and I
respect that.
5. These cultures to me were created like any others. Someone did something another
person liked and it just stuck. Its like a cycle. Just like the new trends that come out.
Someone buys it and another person likes it so they get it to. It just continues. And when
one feels strongly about something their family will too. That is how these came about.
6. I do not feel like we should integrate those cultures to ours. It is good for people to
know what they are and to give them the option but to bring something so different
into a society where people are scared of change.
