2. Rear View/ Front View
Rear View :images are projected and reflected onto the screen from behind the
screen, unlike traditional video and film projection in which the projector itself
is placed in front of the screen, such as in a movie theater.
Front View: a display system that projects an enlarged television picture on the
front surface of a reflective screen.
A good example of this would be a simple Cinema movie projector
3. CRT/LCD/DLP Projectors
• CRT - Uses Small, High-brightness as the image generating element. Its then
Focused and enlarged onto a screen using a lense. They usually have 3 colors and
their own lenses to achieve colored images
• LCD - Most LCD projectors use a metal halide lamp or similar lamp to generate
light, which passes polarized light through three LCD panels. These panels selectively
allow pixels of red, green or blue light pass through to another prism that combines
the colors and projects them onto a remote surface.
• DLP - A data projection technology from TI that produces clear, readable images on
screens in lit rooms. DLP is used in all types of projection devices, from data
projectors that weigh only a few pounds to large rear-projection TVs to electronic
cinema projectors for movie theaters.
4. Lumens/ Throw/ Lamp
• Lumens is a type of unit of measurement that allows people to determine
the amount of light being emitted by a projector
• Throw in film terminology is the distance of a movie projector from the
screen- it is the distance the image is thrown onto the screen
• Lamp is the light bulb inside of the projector
