The Health & Bio Team Dating project was created through the collaboration of four institutions: Banc Sabadell, the fifth-largest Spanish banking group, Biocat, Bosch i Gimpera Foundation and CataloniaBio, three bodies representing the life sciences sector in Catalonia. The initiative aims to dynamize and promote the development of the Catalan bioentrepreneurial ecosystem by linking entrepreneurs with projects. We expect this event to lead to formal collaborations between business professionals and research groups in balanced management teams to create new life sciences start-ups with high potential.

2. Why?
• The majority of biotech start-ups begin with a CEO + CSO team. It is
necessary to combine scientific research of excellence and
management expertise to give the project the right focus and proper
development.
• Setting up a company requires an entrepreneurial team forged through
matchmaking in a creative environment with the right people. Many
people don’t have the chance to meet otherwise.
• There are many scientific projects in Catalonia that could become
companies, but their scientific leaders do not have the expertise, time,
interest or tools to make that happen.
• There is a pool of entrepreneurs willing to work on projects and seeking
out new challenges that aren’t aware of the opportunities in our sector.
• We have a powerful ecosystem (researchers, entrepreneurs, investors,
institutions), but there is a lack of collaborative ventures.

How is it structured?
1. Registration: Registration will be available from the first week of October. Both CEOs and projects can
register and upload their detailed information. The registration fee is €45/project or CEO. Projects can
bring up to 2 representatives per registration.
2. Creating Profiles: Each participant must add detailed information about what they are looking for and
what they are offering. This information will act as a filter for the laws of supply and demand in an open
marketplace for programing your B2B meetings. Remember to make your profile attractive!
3. B2B Booking: After you register, the platform will allow all participants to book B2B meetings and
prepare personalized agendas. Booking will close 3 days before the event.
Event Day: Participants will hold their pre-established B2B meetings on 3 December 2015 in Barcelona.
The event is from 9 am to 4:30 pm, allowing each project or CEO to have 8 half-hour meetings.

5. Where do the projects come from?
The participating projects are looking for business managers to complement their teams and set up
companies in the future. They may also be established companies looking to fill business needs on their
management boards. All the projects come from public and private institutions operating in the life sciences
sector in Catalonia, including: hospitals, universities, technology parks, science parks, companies, research
centers, technology transfer offices, etc.

6. Where do the management profiles come from?
The participating professionals (active or not) are looking for life science projects that would be an exciting
new challenge for them in their professional careers. The participants were selected from funding raising
entities, consultancies, headhunters, bio/pharma companies, business masters and courses, individuals and
others.
If I am a business developer/CEO, which information should I
provide?

7. How does it work?
The registration form will be available in early October. Once you have registered, you will be able to
upload your profile and see other participants’ profiles. After the initial registration period, the booking
option will be available so that all participants can book and schedule their meetings. You can ask for a
meeting by booking an available slot on the event day for the participant you choose. You can also be
booked, accept and decline meetings while setting up your agenda.

8. Relevant Information
There are no specific, restrictive criteria for participant registration. If your profile is not complete, the
information is incorrect or the contents are not relevant, you might not be booked for meetings. The platform
will filter the contents based on quality and whether they fit with the goals of the initiative. Please be aware
that it is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide is correct and up to date.
